i was shopping for cars and i was looking at a lexus gs300 2006 when the sales guy told me about a 2004 infinity black on black with smoke birds eye maple trim and it had a spoiler.. when i saw it i had never seen a car like this on the road.. it looked stunning so i asked for a test drive and i was blown away at the power, speed and comfort , i was totally sold !!!! this is not my daily driver i only drive this car on the weekends so when the weekend comes "bam" im in it .. this car is off the hook and i rarely see it on the road . and people just look at it and give so many complements, my butt is warm in winter and my butt is cool in the summer.. im glad i got it......read morehide

- Pros
- Very stong engine, fantastic Stability Control, Always get compliments from strangers on apperance
- Cons
- VERY SMALL back seat, GPS is awkward to use, but not horrible, below average head room
I love this car. It is a great looker, that you just don't see every day. I have gotten countless compliments from complete strangers on how great the car looks. It has power to spare, across the entire spread of gears and RPMs. Navigation system is poor in comparison to Lexus, but you get used to it after a while. I have never used the voice recognition software to its fullest, as it does not work with the navigation....read morehide

- Looks like an old american sedan from the past.
I just don't understand why this car rates so high. I don't care if it drives like a dream. It just doesn't look good. I hate it! I wish nissan would make a better looking car than this. I like the G35 but it is too small.

- Looks Impala.
It looks like Impala. The driving performance is fair.
However, this car is looks like Impala. Besides, the rear doesn't look expensive.
Thus, if you want to buy a luxury car by its apperance, this is not good.0 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

I don't own this car but I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show.
The most glaring fault was the fact that you could not insert a CD when the shift lever was in park. How does this happen in a $45,000 automobile?0 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

- NONE. Even the fact that it is only a 2 year run is a plus!!
Now here is a dumbfounding situation. The '03/'04 M45 has got to be the best combination of everything a car guy or gal can dream of, (minus a retractable hard top for the Jekell/Hyde types), the car can even talk to you and cool your fanny; but for whatever reasons, it seemed liked Infiniti couldn't give this car away! After some investigating, I discovered a few things...and here is my theory.
Nissan/Infiniti knew fully well that this model M45 was not going to be a stellar sedan for the masses, but it needed it in order to introduce the 2005 M45, and to gurantee the '05's success. If you've been paying attention, you'll notice that a vehicle is more desirable and will get rave reviews if it has a lackluster version, whether previous or current. For example, what makes a BMW M3 so sought after? Among other things, it is because you can compare it to a less exciting 325Ci. A 1997 Lexus LS 400 is just not quite right sitting next to the 1998 with is jewel tone lights and squared off nose and tail. Same goes for the 1997-2000 Infiniti QX4 versus 2001-03, and the previous Acura RL compared to the new showpiece.
Coming up with the M45 was quite easy...simply rebadge the JDM Nissan Cedric/Gloria and voila you get the M45. But Infiniti didn't stop here. They also wanted to rectify the nearly fatal mistake it made in 1997 by nixing the original 4.5L 278hp (outrageous power for early '90s) badd-ass Q-ship, replacing it with a 4.1L dud without the awesome analog clock. It also provided Infiniti faithfuls with a cult car...the 'first' M45. It is all that and then some. I used to own a 1994 Q45; I got more compliments with that car than all the other 6+ vehicles I have ever owned combined.
It is clear that the '03/'04 M45 is the spirtual successor to the original Q, so needless to say I will be purchasing an M45 fully with "QSHIP 2" written on the license plate. The '05 M35/45? It is for the masses and should do well, but it ain't got nothing on the original M45...heck the '03/'04 has 5 more horses. So although it might not have gotten the nod from the car gods, the original M45 is gold to those who know, and will continue to be a fav for many years to come. Not a believer? bring whatever you got and I will give you a run for your money.
BTW, I'll take mine in black with black leather and blonde bird's eye maple with the rear wing and all possible options. An FX45 should do nice for the wife so the M isn't lonely in our garage.

This car must be the ulitmate balance between performance, desirability, beauty and price.
The car is loaded, in every sense of the word. Fast, powerful. extremely comfortable, very high quality, and big. It is another Carlos Ghosn master piece. It brooks no opposition, because after you drive it for the first time you do not want to drive anything else.
It matches Lexus and BMW for electronic gizmos and out does both of them in performance. If I were going on a trip of over 1000 miles, this is the car I would pick. If I were going to the race track, then this is the car I would pick.
Unbeatable on Bang for Buck, or just plain unbeatable if this car came
out ten years ago. Infinity would probably be where Lexus is to-day.
You do not need to test drive. If you have the money or the credit,
just buy it!!!!...read morehide7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

- Ugly Car
This can can really perform. But it's not a looker. The car looks like is doesn't know what it is. Nice rims can't even help this car. The other reviews are from people that own the old M45. I wonder how long it took them to convice themselves that this car looks good.
