Upon introduction, the 2.5-Liter is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, V6, 194-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 3.0-Liter is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 231-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional.
The 2002 X-Type is all-new for 2002.
