- Quiet, excellent power, roomy inside, easy to drive, great truck
- Gas milage, and horrible blind spots.
I love my jeep and am very happy I got it. The power is there when you need it, the interior is comfortable, and it can handle itself in any weather. I definatly feel safe in it and have no worries on the road. The only downfall to the Jeep is the gas milage, which Jeep is notorious for horrible gas milage so I knew that before I bought it. It also has horrible blind spots on both sides. I bought the small convex mirrors to combat the problem and it seemed to have fixed the problem....read morehide

- Very reliable, I have not had any issues with this vehicle since I bought it. Excellent Quality
- A little tight in the 3rd row, but plenty of storage when the seat is folded flat
Great Vehicle. Good looking and very reliable. Excellent off road capability. If you have been thinking about buying one, go for it. You will not be sorry. This is another example in my opinion of the quality being as good or better than any import including the Range Rover, or any Toyota / Honda / Nissan etc....read morehide

- For a v8 good mpg compared to my v6 trooper
- I have no need for 3rd row seating
I just recently bought a 2008 jeep commander with 10000 miles on it. It has the v8 4.7 305hp. I've been really impressed so far. I had a izuzu trooper the past 8 years. I've been really happy with the gas milage so far considering its a suv and comparing it to my trooper which was a gas guzzler. I avg almost 19 mpg hwy and almost 17 mpg city. I like the overall feel inside and the drive is very smooth. It is hard to see out the back when the 3rd row seating is up, but since i will never use it I've just left it down and put a cargo mat down over it....read morehide

- sporty, feels like the boss on the road
- poor mpg
my 07 sport ed,jeep commander runs 9.8mpg city driving /13mpg to 16 highway, based on the trip meter .i always monitor it thats why its far beyond what was posted in the market, horrible and so frustrating seeing the next gasoline stop again in my navigator for my next trip.

- The stares I get as I drive down the road. Sunroof, large tires, smooth....ohh soo smooth ride
- Whistle-like sound. However, problem will be fixed by dealer. Service bulletin #23-022-06
I bought the Jeep from Naperville Jeep (Naperville, IL). Had a relatively nice experience. The Jeep though is awesome so far. My first tank of gas I was able to get 17.8MPG driving from the burbs of Chicago to the lakefront. 2/3'rds of the driving was stop and go during the Air and Water Show. Not bad with the A/C on.
The $4,500 customer cash (Jeep/Chrysler) was very nice and helped eat up part of the negative equity on my trade in.
One touch power windows (driver/passenger) is also very nice. Jeep runs oh soo smooth down the road and its like you're riding on a cushion of air.
The Boston Acustics (sp?) stereo system Kicks hard. Not bad for stock. I also like the chrome looking front grill.........and also the boxy type body.
The Commander is the exact same vehicle as the Jeep Grand CHerokee (sp?)..but it just has a differnt body style.
If you're looking for power and tons of torque.........then you'll need to buy the V-8. it though is a bit costly as my Commander only ran about $29,000 (minus rebate)....read morehide

- Drives nice, good stereo, nice sunroof, looks great! I just bought my 06 commander and i love it.
- Could do without 3rd row of seats...it would be awesome if the storage area wasn't so high.
This jeep is perfect for me. I wanted something that could get me to work in the snow and ice, had a good stereo, and a sunroof. My jeep is exactly what I needed. I only drive about 4000 miles a year so the gas mileage isn't a problem for me (14 in town/19 highway). My kids are perfectly comfy in the back seats with their carseats....read morehide

- great price, safe, 4x4, gps, leather, boston stereo
I was looking for a SUV. I bought a brand new 2007commander in 2008. (you always get better deals when the new year turns around). sticker was $39, 540 out the door for $28,300. it has leather, boston acoustics, navigation, quadra trac 2 v8 engine, backup camera, every option you can think of. also bought the extended warranty. thus far very happy with it. as far as complaining about gas mil. what do you expect its a v8 5000 pounds. you want good gas mil. then buy a honda civic....read morehide

- "Trail Rated Ride", Room, Theater-Style Seating, V8 Power
- Fuel Economy, Radio, Front Windshield
Traded in a 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited in on my 2006 Commander 50th Anniversary. I honestly can say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. The Commander is just as aggressive as it is gentle. The 4.7 V8 provides tons of power and pick up. The sunroof is huge and the skylights are a hit! The 3rd row seat is enough for short trips, but otherwise best used in the down position as a fold-flat storage area. The Goodyear Fortera tires are PHENOMANAL! I have (and I do not recommend anyone else trying this, take my word for it) hydroplaning my Commander...it won't do it! I have not towed with the vehicle yet, but I can only assume the best. The ride on the Commander is amazing for an "off-road" branded vehicle. My Commander is "Trail Rated", but really I think it should have a "Street-Rated" symbol. The SUV rides better then some cars I have been in! The interior room is amazing, and I always get compliments on the Theater-style 2nd row seats. Everyone says they like that they can see out of the front windshield. This is an SUV worth considering if you are or soon will be in the market. Oh yeah, and the incentives to buy and lease are among the best in the market. Great job designing this one Jeep!
Everyone will find something they do not like about a vehicle. Mine happens to be the fuel economy and the radio. I will start with the fuel economy. Granted, I opted for the 4.7 V8 (mind you, not the 5.7 Hemi), but I did expect the vehicle to hold a little truer to the 15/19 fuel ratings on the window sticker. After 16,500 miles, I have averaged 12.5 MPG! I drive a steady mix of city and highway, and can't seem to get better gas mileage. I will admit, I have a heavy foot, but this is quite a bit lower then I like. Recently, I have been driving like an old man (slow starts and keeping at posted speed limits) and have gotten the average MPGs to 14.6. Not at all impressive, but nonetheless, it is better. Now, the radio. My Commander has the 6-disc cd changer. The speakers "pop" when the volume is up (I usually keep mine set at 10-12, but like to turn it up for a good song). I expected a little bit better quality here for a $34,000 SUV. Harmon/Kardon or Infinity speakers would have been nice. The changer also takes a few seconds longer then what I had expected to shuffle through the cds. Finally, the front windshield is big, but it is steep, causing the driver to either stop short at traffic lights or lean forward to see above them. If I end up too close to a traffic light, I open up my sunroof shade, and look through the sunroof. Other then that, I love my Jeep!...read morehide

- V6, acceleration, comfort, roomy
- gas mileage, but it's worth it
I wanted the V8, but I took the time to test drive one with a V6 and I was pleasantly surprised with the power and acceleration for a large vehicle. I am glad I took the time to test drive it. I saved like $2,000 and get better gas mileage than if I had the V8.

- Lots of Leg room while Im driving. Really Comfortable.
- Always in 4x4 which dont help with gas. Thats it
Handles awesome in the snow. I was going to buy a 4x4 Ram but once I sat in this I was sold. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who has a family living in a winter climate.
