- Great number of options
- Fuel economy
I owned a 98 Jeep 5.9 prior to this so I was used to muscle car like acceleration and those unbeleivable comfy seats. The Hemi moves along nicely with the 5 spd auto but there is a noticeable delay on the throttle which is annoying. After owning it for only three weeks, the driver side seat squeaks as if it were dads old recliner with a broken spring. Taken it in twice, first time they were "unable to duplicate" The second time it was claimed that something underneath near the skid plate was in need of lubrication (ok....) It started again yesterday. The last thing-if the windows and/or sunroof are open, the rear seatbelts flap very loudly in the wind. A strange issue but on my 98, Jeep actually knew of that and had velcro straps to secure them in place. Other than those issues, it truly is a nice drive, the factory options are a great distraction on road trips, satellite radio, nav system, 6 cd changer, and switch driving and sit in the back and watch a movie....read morehide

- Hemi wonderful for towing. Excellent steering response for a SUV. One of the best looking SUVs.
- Gas mileage could be better. Interior could use upgrade to plastic
I've always been a coupe/sporty car type of guy. Ended up having to trade in my Prelude since I was in need of a vehicle for towing the boat. Picked up this bad boy about 2 weeks ago and have not regretted the decision since. What I was looking for in a SUV was something that had great looks, fairly fast acceleration, and could tow a few tons with a blink of an eye...Looked at numerous SUVs on the market and I kept coming back to the Jeep as having everything I needed without having to sell off vital organs. The steering response has been quite excellent for an SUV. It obviously doesn't have the handling of a small sporty car, but thus far, I haven't missed the great handling I had in my Prelude. I also love the acceleration from a dead stop. Quite quick for a car of it's size (a testament to the power of the Hemi). Furthermore I love the towing ability and off road ability that this car has. I'm sure you can't say that of the Lexus, BMW, and Acura SUVs that soccer moms drive around. Lastly, what finalized my decision with the Jeep is the awesome lifetime powertrain warranty that Chrysler is now offering on all of their products. How can you complain about that!!
As with any car, there are positives and negatives, and the Jeep does have both. The gas mileage I have been having thus far could be a whole lot better. However, I knew what I was getting myself into and am hoping that the MPG increases as I get more mileage on the Jeep. My only last con is that I wished the interior of the car felt more luxurious. Although the seats are comfortable and the wood trim looks great, the rest of the plastic in the interior looks somewhat cheap. My mom has a fully loaded Lexus IS 250 and I wish the interior was more refined like that.
In conclusion, the Jeep has been a great car. It rides, handles, and looks great. It is a SUV that everyone should consider when looking at the SUV market....read morehide

- Accelleration Awesome, Size is parking lot managable,
- Fuel Economy could be better, but worth it;
First vehicle I have purchsed in a long time that I'm completely satisfied with, it has more bells and whistles than any gadget freak will ever need.
It accellerates so well, that it just could not be consider any suv. Having this much power must be a sin. I have not towed anything with it yet, though with the accelleration that is still available at 70+ I'm sure it has it a strong hauler.
Complaints, yes one, having suede inserts, I'm not sure what to do when I take it to find some mud. or what do I do when a less than hygenic friend wants a ride. Guess I'll buy seat cover for hunting, and choose cleaner friends in the future....read morehide

- sports car in an SUV with the HEMI and MUCH improved brakes and suspension over my 2000 Limited. 4
- fuel cons. is lousy, but at 330 HP, I am not complaining. Plastic front dash and no holder in back o
I haul a boat, and drive in snow and offroad. NO suv beats or meets this Jeep. I put the chrome sidesteps on it, and it is a real headturner! Also the GPS is very valuable on trips and new towns. No strange tranny or rear-end sounds and problems that I went through with my 2000 limited. I will keep this car for a long time as long as it continues to be reliable. We love the Sirius radio also! The Overland model is much better with the full leather/burl wood interior than the Limited. This is the 'Cadillac of all Jeeps'!!...read morehide

- Great for the road, better off road. Big aceleration, great brakes.
- Litle soft on hard curbs. Special motor oils 5-20. Brute gas pedal.
This is my 3 Jeep on a row. First a 5.9, then a 4.7 overland and now this beauty.
I have had Porches, BMWs, Alfas, Lancias, Mazdas, Nissan Patrol, Chevrolet, Ford....well you name it....many nice cars, some sport some SUV.
I own a farm, so I use the Jeep on and off road. The farm is in Central America where it really rains, there is no other car that I prefer for bad and slipery back roads than this HEMI Jeep, it is just like a goat. For the road it handles very good, grat power, brakes and stability....its looks are also great.
Do I loke this car?? Let me put it this way. If I had to choose one car for every day driving, that is work and pleasure....I choose the HEMI Overland JEEP. The price also helps!!...read morehide

- Great power and now getting same mileage as my 2003 JGC Overland with the 4.7l V8. Has everything
- No cons yet. I'm sure I'll find something.
Had to have a V8 to pull a boat. Had to 4x4 for the snow and room in the back for dogs. What else is there in this price range. Toyota Sequoia is 5k more. BMW 15k more. This is a great value.

- Shift Manumatic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Needs a BIGGER GAS TANK !!!!!!!!!!!
Overall very satisfied with the Overland model !!
Hemi is powerful and I am hoping to see output increased next year !!
Needs a little more power in the higher RPM range, and I am not talking SRT 8 performance, just class leading for this model !!
Shifting is awsome in manumatic mode and it's makes the hemi seem even more powerful at the seat of the pants.
Headroom is tight but manageable for 6 footers.
I would like to see interior quality improve and the plastic removed.
My only other beef is with the fog lights, they crack every so often.
This also happened on my 2004 ??
I am not sure if it's from a car wash or road debris, but I feel the quality of these lights, should be better....read morehide

- Mega fun fast ride, marvelously safe and a great head-turner.
- The rear seems a little too boxy: but then it's still way better than most other SUV/SAVs.
I had an '01 until June when it was totalled. Why another one you may ask? I survived three major accidents in the car. After evaluating the condition of the car after each accident, I had no doubt as to the safety ability of this model.
Now, I have a red "chromy" Overland with all the gadgets imaginable, and surprisingly they are standard: bluetooth 'phone system, suede/leather heated seats, navigation system, DVD, dual temperature control, wood/leather steering wheel, chrome rims, chrome roof racks, monogrammes seats etc. Virtually all the creature comfort features of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, or a Range Rover which of course costs twice as much.
Literally, this thing is a "rocket", "jet" or if you will, a "Corvette" disguised as an SUV. It has 335 HP, 5.7 Liters HEMI. Simply, its a brute. It has raw power.
If you are looking for a great thrill, at a low cost on the road, get one....read morehide
