- A little cramped for a 6ft 1in driver not wide enough on the floor board to spread my feet
Bought the car this weekend. Took if for the initial break in. Vehicle has great acceleration and averaged 17 mpg for 200 miles. 50 miles were in town and the other 150 were in the mountains on the freeway.
Compared to Hundi Santa fe it is much better on power. Against the KIA, better power, against the Saturn? well they don't have 4X4, against the Rav4, less power and gass milage but has more room for my legs on the sides of the compartment and has smooth edges for me to put my knees up against.
Overall, it has 2,000 pounds more pulling capacity than the RAV4 which is the highest out of all the foregin vehicles and most of them come with a towing package and a hitch.
Why did I buy a Jeep. Simply put, the dealer was actually a dealer, they were willing to deal. The foregin competeors seem to think their product is so good, so rare that you need to pay MSRP or more for it. So long foreign guys!!
It is to cute to not like. I took bang for the buck rather than spend 27,500 without tax and licesne or extended warranty for a Rav4 with only a 36 month warranty.
Answer to the foreign guys. Try making more of your vehicles so you don't have the "they are so rare line". I have news for you. You are right, they are rare if you go to the mid west and leave the west coast. I was at Yellowstone on vacation in Febuaray and I saw only one other Tundra. Guess what, it had CA plates. Your right, Toyotas are rare no matter what modle they are espically if you leave the west coast. Oh ya, so are finding dealers to repair them....read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
I have the '04 Jeep Liberty V6 Renegade and love almost all of it. The only thing that bothers me is the gas milage. I feel like I can practically see the gage go down every time I start the car!

- Nice Paint Job
- Seats too high, pedals too close together, touchy stiring
I have only 1200 miles on my 2006 Renegade. I feel out of love with it after a couple weeks. I just found the vehicle very uncomfortable and I didn't enjoy driving it at all. I have been trying to sell the Renegade for 6 weeks. I have lowered the price 2 times so far. I'm down to $21,000.00 and so far not one interested party. Boy did I make a mistake. My suggestion is to rent the Jeep for a couple days before you make up you mind to buy....read morehide

- It is a cheap car.
- Very noisy in general.
I hear a spinning noise between 25 to 35 mph. Sound seems to go away at high speeds. Selling dealer replaced axles, then return the car with the same noise due to Chrysler telling them it is normal. Chrysler refuses to explain why I have the noise and where is it coming from. It is very unpleasant during city driving, even with music on!...read morehide

- CRD Model I can run bio diesel
- Window buttons and seats are high..
I love my CRD! I bought almost all options except the satellite radio and the hands free talk. It's a great rig. I'm not very tall but notice that the drivers seat is a little high, loosing some vision out of the window. But other than that its a great little rig. Great MPG, and overall much better than my wrangler as far as not feeling like my teeth are shaking loose driving down the freeway. I use B-20 and it was my only consideration as far as purchasing a new Jeep model. Window levers are in a stupid spot, as they should be were the door lock levers are.. Oh well, worth it to use Bio Diesel....read morehide

- Price, power, easy to park, tows and carries cargo well. Trouble free
- Gas milage could be better.
This vehicle can and does go anywhere. I've driven it through 2 feet of snow without any problems. It is tight and feels like a solid piece of steel as you drive down the road. There are no rattles or noises. So far I have driven my Liberty over 72, 000 miles wihout even a minor problem or complaint. I have a wood pellet stove and have loaded it up with 25- 40 pound bags of pellets on multiple occasions. That my friend is 1000 pounds. The vehicle drives with this weight with no strain at all. It tows my 1700 pound bass boat with ease, much better than my Ford F150 did. My wife and several coworkers have since bought Jeep Liberty's and swear by them. As to the writer who complained about ground clearance and not being able to go over a parking space concrete stop barrier I disagree. I should not admit this but the liberty goes over these concrete parking stops as if they weren't there. If you buy one you should not have any problems with it....read morehide

- Looks great! Great power!
- Defective brake booster, defective belts, horrible odor
Since the day we bought it we have had nothing but trouble with our new Jeep. We were only getting 10/12 miles a gallon and the car was hesitating and stuttering in reverse. It also had a horrible smell that we thought was just the new car smell burning off. We took it to the dealer and they found a defective brake booster. It seemed to be driving better but we still smelled a strong skunk type smell. We took it in again and they just put a deodorizer in the heater to cover up the odor. So now our Jeep was making us feel sick from the skunk smell and the cheap cologne smell. We continued to get very nauseated when driving it and took it back again. This time they found a defective belt that they thought was giving the horrible smell. The next day we still smelled the smell ever worse! It was making us dizzy and sick. We took it back again and the dealer kept it for a few days and then said they could not smell anything, which was unbelievable to us. Finally my husband took it in again and had them come out and smell it with him standing there. They finally acknowledged that there is a smell but tried assuring us that there isn't any leaks. I don't know what it is, but it can't be safe. We just want to enjoy her new Jeep and it is making us miserable!...read morehide

- The 2.8 Diesel is terrific
- Don't know yet
ESP/BAS and Traction control lights came on during the drive home from the dealership (intermittent)
Now they come on permanently and stay on until engine shutdown.
The vehicle is presently at the dealership because they cannot figure out the problem.
The Liberty is now ONE week old !!!!!!!!!
