2006 Jeep Liberty User Reviews
Renegade 4X4 shown
- $7,049 - $8,735
- tight turning radius, stiff suspension, appearance, power, American made
- ground clearance, fuel economy
I love almost every aspect of this vehicle, it'd be great for taking the kids to soccer or picking up groceries. But it is not made for off-road! Chrysler advertises 9.5 inches of ground clearance but it acutally has less than 6.5 under the front differential, transmission, the axl side arms, and the rear differential is a lot less than 9.5 also. I don't know how they measure their 9.5 inches, or how they can give it a trail rated badge. If you need the clearance buy somehting else. If you want a great, dependable, American made on-road car that is functional, practicle, and reliable this may be the vehicle for you. It's easy to park, has good traction in deep sand or up steep inclines with loose rocks, and even my 6-foot-3 dad has enough headroom- but it's lucky to clear a parking block....read morehide

- Looks great, rides good...great bells and whistles
- a little noisy, but that's to be expecgted
just got this SUV and I'm thrilled. It's truly the best looking SUV out there, in my opinion. We did a little off-roading, but I'm looking forward to more.

- Great ride, interior is driver friendly
- fuel economy, not much room to move the seat back
It doesn't give you many compartments up front- but the mesh pocket in the cargo area is the perfect size to hold maps (you know- the ones that don't fit in the glove box)

- The Liberty is a wonderful ride. Good suspension. Gas mileage as expected.
I bought this car 3 weeks ago. After one week the ESP/BAS and Traction Control Lights went on, initially intermittently, but eventually the problem was constant. Of course, this is covered by warranty, but since it's a "rare" problem, acc'd to the dealer, the sensor needed to fix the it is on backorder at Jeep and unavailable at other Jeep dealerships. Also, if this problem does occur, it can affect the brakes, making it somewhat dangerous to drive.
Now I know that nothing in this world is perfect and I wouldn't necessarily suggest not buying the Liberty. But, if the problem arises in your new Liberty, be prepared to wait a long time until it's fixed. Perhaps my issue is a fluke, but I figured everyone should be aware of it....read morehide

- It is a nice size SUV excellent value for what you get I love my jeep
- The only complain I have is I am a tall girl and there is not enough leg room for me
Naperville Jeep gave me an excellent deal if someone is looking for a jeep go there. I have already started to add custom parts to my jeep. You will love it once you drive it.
