Great all around car. Comfortable, secure ride. Can drive in fields, over snow. and mud. Good view of road, rides higher than a car. Mileage is average to good, for a 4wd car. The transmission is very smooth

- Pros
- large interior with a lot more legroom in the back then imagined. very peppy engine for a 4 cyl.
- Cons
- its loud--sounds like a diesel.

bought new 2011 patriot as both my sons started driving and i wanted something safe, reliable, and economical. the patriot really fits all those needs. you don't spend a fortune on gas. it has enough pick up to get you on/off highways but little enough to get you into speed trouble. handles real well and the 4 wheel drives through any amount of snow you would need to endure. looks are the best in its class when comparing to kia, hyundai, honda, toyota..........classic jeep stlying that never grows old....read morehide

- Pros
- It's a Jeep. Spacious enterior.
- Cons
- MPG is terrible. Can't improve performance and mpg. It voids the warranty.
Purchased As New
I'm very disapointed in my Patriot. MPG is 18-19 with town and highway driving. The interior is set up for some one who doesnt mind getting dirty. It's easy to clean. Those that complain about it feeling cheap need to stick with the cherokee. Placing the "Brain" on top of airfilter is a MORONIC design. It makes it impossible to not void the warranty if you install an intake to improve the FALSIFIED mpg. And increase performance as well. The guy that designed that part placement needs to be fired. It's drives like a car and is very easy to park. I do not recommend this vehicle to anyone. I'm trading it in as soon as soon as I can....read morehide

- Pros
- Great gas mileage, great looks, great steering, comfortable seats. Few blindspots.
- Cons
- noisey, a little rough ride, but that's a JEEP!

I feel special in the white 4X4 latitude!!! It is a true Jeep but better mileage than the Cherokee, smaller engine, but put your foot on the accelerator and moovvee! I can easily merge onto the highway!!! I notice when I pass other RV's they feel they need to catch up or follow. Two things I miss are the built-in garage opener and automatic phone service. This is my second Patriot, and I love them!!!!...read morehide

- Pros
- Good MPG both highway and city, roomy, easy to drive, smooth ride
- Cons
- Blind spots

I've had my Patriot for less than a week but I absolutely love driving it. Fortunately the gas mileage is proving to be good, otherwise I would be in trouble. I have driven a Pontiac Sunfire for the last 7 years so I assumed that adjusting to the larger Patriot would be difficult, but it hasn't been at all. I am not used to the blind spots, but for someone else who has had SUV's in the past, it shouldn't be that hard at all. My friends are very tall (over 6 feet) and all have room to sit without being scrunched up. Even with the car seat in the back, they are able to sit comfortably. I love this vehicle and recommend it to everyone!...read morehide

- Pros
- looks OK, good drive train warranty, now i know why only drive train.
- Cons
- car parts used in a Jeep
Purchased As New
Bought this new in 07, every option except gps, even got the last of the life time drive train warranties, so I thought i will keep this vehicle for ever, Yeah the cvt transmission is noisy, not alot of power, but gas mileage is ok, unless you plan on pulling something, then the cvt shifts its ratio's down for power and you are driving around at 6m rpms, and your gas mileage is below 15mpg's, I could live with those limitations, but at 40M miles the Dodge Caliper underpinnings that this jeep is made of started to give out, since they were never desinged to be used in an SUV, First to go where the tie rod ends, then the the ball joints, then the bushings in the rear suspention assemby, then, and this is when i traded it in on a new Grand Cherokee overland, the contstant velocity joints where making noise, and where terminal. All of this added up to the reality that yes the engine and trasmission are quite bullet proof and from reasearch they expect both to go for 160m miles or more so they could afford to warranty the drive train for ever, but the cheap compact car parts in the steering and suspension systems were not nearly as durable. My patriot was bleeding money at 50M miles to the tune of $800 every 4-6 months on items which on any other suv would last at least 100M miles. So dont get one if you plan on keeping it, and sell or trade yours before 50M miles if you have one.
I have owned many jeeps in my lifetime and infact still do with my new GCH . Jeep makes awsome vehicles but this and the smaller such suv type jeeps are not one of them....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I could not be more thrilled with my 2011 Jeep Patriot. The 2.4 engine is smooth and has plenty of torque. The interior is comfortable and very well appointed. There are all kinds of modern features, especially regarding audio and safety. I love the Jeep styling.

- Pros
- Good fuel economy, Comfort and sound system
- Cons
- Light duty, not made for pulling heavy loads

I am very pleased with my Patriot. I've had it for about 9 months now. It did well in the snow last winter. I have the My Gig sound system with 9 Boston Accustic Speakers including subwoofer. It rivals most home systems. I've gotten up to 30 MPG highway and get around 25 to 26 close to home. I sometimes pull my 16' Allumacraft boat and it's about the maximum load I would want to pull but It does it with no problem. The seats fold down and I have gotten 8 foot 2x4s in with the tailgate closes. I have the 5 speed manual transimission. I originally set out to buy a Ford Escape but bought the Patriot because I felt I got more for less cost....read morehide
