Love the boxy look. Never thought that I would own a Chrysler product, but after driving this car it won me over. Plenty of head room. I haven't owned this car long, but so far I love everything about it. A lot of car for the money.

I just bought this @ Huntington Beach Jeep for 20k after trade in and $1000 cash back, and i luv the car, it has everything i wanted inside, leather heated seats, included nice options such as navigation, dvd/cd/mp3 plus sat radio for 1 year free, has plenty of room, ride is smooth, more like a car then my old suv bumpy and stiff, this is stiff but smooth, has a 4cly engine has been avg. about 21-24 so far combo/driving city and freeway and best of all got an extended warranty for 7 years bumper to bumper on the car which only added $1 to my car payment, cant beat that, oh yes they did, they also gave me a 1 year parking pass to Huntington Beach a $150 pass so i am thrilled with the deal, traded in 06 jeep liberty w/88k 1 owner....read morehide

Just have my jeep patriot for about a month, so far I love it. I traded in a ford escape and am loving the way the jeep drives. I had 3 jeep Cherokee 's in the past and then decided to try the ford escape. I am a community nurse and travel every day and we have nasty winter's. I never felt the safeness with the escape that I always felt with my jeeps. Love it...read morehide

I love this car! I think that for a small suv, it has great room. I love the boxy look compared to all of the oval shaped suv's that are out there. I am averaging 21 miles per gallon which is pretty good.

- Pros
- Looks nice
- Cons
- Size, very poor headlights

I traded in a 2007 Silverado for this 2012 Jeep Patriot strictly for the improvement in gas milage. I cant help but feel that I really traded down. The Jeep is nice, handsome body design and interior, handles very well, rides ok for a small vehicle. The seats are not comfortable on long rides, But the worst thing about this Jeep, although it seems petty, is that the headlights leave so much to be desired. There is little difference between the dim and bright settings, and quite honestly, the so called brights in this Jeep are the dimmest I've ever seen. Obviously a poor design.
If I could, I would get my Silverado back and ditch this Jeep, gas milage be damned....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Cons
- needs just a few more inchs in the backseat

Got the 2012 4x2 on Sat....and today some guy cuts in front of my wife and she T-boned him going about 30mph...bumper had a few deep sratchs but no broken head lights and no other damage....HELL YEAH.....tons of leg room front and back seat.....with the driver seat in my driving position i can get in the backseat and still have alot of room to move my legs.....try it......I have a car seat in the middle and that doesnt leave much room for your thighs on the sides....so if have 2 kids this would work great....safety is very high for this car....also like the aotumatic that switchs to manuel by tapping the shifter....then you have 6 speeds to play with or just tap it back to automatic....read morehide

- Pros
- Good looking in and out, responsive, quiet, comfortable and stable, rich feat.
- Cons
- Interier can be 6"longer & 2" wider, backseat cupholders palcement

I drove the 2009 sport trim and just updated to the 2012 limited 4x4 model. The auto transmission in the new one is much more responsive although it can still do better. To get the best out of it performance, the +/- stick will help.
The engine and road sounds are noticeably lower comparing to the 2009 model. The suspension system is neither too soft nor too hard.. it is quite well balanced.. My hands and body can remain in touch with the road conditon when I am driving. With leather interior, heated seat, lumbar support, the ride is quite comfortable.
Feature wise, it is very good and the upgrade options are not expensive....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- I get 34 mpg with my manual transmission 4x2 Patriot. Engine is very quiet.
- Cons
- not a lot of extra room in the back seat
Purchased As New
The best value in it's class. The Patriot looks real nice, and handles snow and ice with class. The engine is quiet, and does everything you'd require a 4 cyclinder 4x2 to do. I love my new Patriot and would recommend it to anyone who wants to blend value with great gas milage. You are a Patriot if you buy this because 70% of the parts come from US and Canada amd the vehicle is assembled in U.S.A. Engine and Transmission are made int he U.S.A. And they have an extra $500 buying incentive for veterans....read morehide

- Pros
- Great Options, Smooth Ride, Comfortable, Quiet, Exterior Looks Amazing!
- Cons
- Gas Mileage has yet to increase to EPA stated 28MPG, iPhone 4 UConnect issues.

The new Jeep Patriot is awesome. I bought the FWD Limited Trim with the Sun and Sound, Security and Convenience, 430N Stereo upgrades etc. The only option I didn't add was the available "Tow Package". I was concerned at first about purchasing a Jeep as a lot of the reviews I read were really mixed and the "pros" seemed to hate it. This concern however was settled the second I got inside and test drive the vehicle.
First, I noticed the roomy interior. I'm a big guy (6'5" 190") and there was not a single issue with head or leg room. The seats were extremely comfortable, and the cabin had no issues with visibility or reach of functions.
The drive was quiet. I had read that that the "boxy" exterior caused a lot of wind noise but that was not the case. Or at least not as noticeable as posted. The engine was also quiet and purred. As I reached speeds of 80mph on the freeway, the engine was no louder than any other vehicle I've been in. In fact, it was rather silent.
The upgraded 430N stereo sounded perfect with the "premium sound package". I was able to feel the base kicks in the seat and the sound was clean and crisp. Integrated navigation was intuitive and accurate and the only issue as stated above in the cons is that I am still having issues connecting my iPhone with the Uconnect Bluetooth sync. This is yet to be resolved.
The gas mileage is so far, considerably lower than that stated. I'm at a best of 23mpg. This is with a trip of 300 miles (260 of it highway). I'm hoping this increases a bit with the "break in" period of the engine but that has yet to be seen as well.
What I have experienced is that the Patriot at this trim level is extremely nice. It's a luxury feel at a economical price. I have no complaints other than the two stated above. Which I'm sure I can at least get one fixed (iPhone). I'll cross my fingers and really hope that they both get fixed.
Bottom line, the new 2012 Jeep Patriot is to me an amazing purchase. A vehicle with lots of room, clean, capable and affordable. I highly recommend this purchase. You won't be dissapointed....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
