I purchased what I thought was a NEW Jeep Wrangler Sahara on 5/5/11 from Telegraph Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylor Mi. From the day I step into this dealership until Today 6/15/11 the nightmare continues.LIES and Parts used off used Jeeps to repair, a practice Chrysler and dealership talk as if common practice which makes me wonder if that's why my Jeep has so many problems. Alternator , complete battery wire harness, fuse box which does not allow air conditioning to work ( as of today they have no idea when part or air will work on NEW Jeep). There is a vibration at 45 to 60, head light aim is off , fender rattle, large scratch in rear bumper, tire pressure monitor light for no reason and I'm sure I forgot a couple. After weekly phone calls to second dealership and Chrysler still don't have any answers , just get run around . Ask about loaner till air fixed dealer said I should have bought from them, Chrysler people keep saying same thing they always say "I CAN"T AUTHORIZE THAT !" and they call this the NEW Chrysler !...read morehide

i love my jeep its the most fun to drive. I live in Maine and the winters are tough the jeep loves the snow and the heater really cranks out the heat even in a soft top.

- Pros
- Convertible! Off-road Performance, Reasonable Fuel Mileage, Fun To Drive
- Cons
- Back-seat access a challenge...

It is everything I expected it would be.
- Noisy [check],
- Rough (especially compared to my Suburban land yacht) [check],
- A little 'twitchy' handling from the short wheelbase [check]
- An absolute blast to drive [CHECK!].
.
Purchased mine within the last 30 days, and I have not started my Suburban since. I have taken two long trips (5 hours both ways & 3.5 hours both ways) and have no complaints. I knew going in what I should expect (wind noise, nervous handling, rougher ride), but have been pleasantly suprised at how civilized the Wrangler has become.
.
In addition to the Wrangler, we've also owned a Grand Cherokee (still own) and before that, the Cherokee Sport, both having the 4.0L I-6, so I was a little uncertain about getting the 3.8L V6. While good, it doesn't have the same low end torque that the 4.0L had; but the Wrangler is geared appropriately, so you don't notice it. If the Wrangler were still using the 4.0L I6, I'd have probably opted for the automatic.
The soft-top is easy to use (once you figure it out - take time to review the owners guide and DVD). My only off-road experience has been fire roads - so I can't judge first-hand - only to say I've already taken my Jeep into situations I couldn't get with my Suburban or Full-Size 4x4.The 6-speed gearbox is smooth and provides better throttle response than the automatic (I test drove both, back-to-back, opted to have the dealer ship one in 300+ miles to get the manual in my desired color). As others have posted, the heater kicks...lets just say it works very well. Fuel mileage was a pleasant suprise. On the highway I've been able to consistently get 22.5+MPG (doing 65-70); commuting back and forth to work 19-20MPG. And this is on a new engine (ie, I expect it to improve once the crankshaft and trans open up a little as has happened with my other vehicles).
The only drawback is access to the backseat. I have two children (ages 15 and 11); they're both tall and lean, but getting into the back seat is a challenge. If you have a need to put people into the back seat on a regular basis, go for the Wrangler Unlimited.
In closing, if you are suit & tie kind of person, enticed by leather seats, smooth lines and handling - this vehicle isn't for you. On the other hand, if you are comfortable in a ball cap, sun glasses, jeans & a t-shirt/flannel shirt (or parka in the winter) and are in the market for a fun vehicle that will get you where you want to go (just about anywhere) no matter the weather (have been out with my neighbor last winter in 2'+ w/o issues), this is the vehicle for you.
As my headline states, my only regret is that I didn't get one years ago. It is an absolute BLAST to drive....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

I bought a 07 wrangler X. With a Camp Jeep special edition package. They only made 50 of them. I have number 11. Not a lot of talk about these Jeeps but they do exist. Its pretty much a Rubi and its wonderful.. I love this vehicle and will never own anything other. I have a 4x4 in the winter and a convertable in the summer. Best vehicle ive ever owned....read morehide

I have a '10 wrangler sport unlimited. No problems yet - had it for 4 months - Take care of it and you'll love it.
- new soft top system is easiest ever.
- heater rocks, you do not need a hardtop unless you live someplace REALLY cold with a loooong winter.
- If you watch car commercial and like to hear stuff about "luxurious appointments and a smooth ride" a jeep is NOT for you!
- This is my 4th wrangler, i have never had a problem....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

Purchased New in Nov2006, 2007 Model Sport. A bit pricey but had all the bells and whistles, (Options). Hard Top, Automatic, overdrive, power everything. Kept it maintained well throughout the manual recommendations. Always kept Quality Synthetic Lub in crankcase. Been pretty good so far, never been stranded, except once in town the security keylock system went bad, spent a week in shop waiting for replacement module. Rear window in hardtop always leaked a little even after being replaced. Plastic Tank Radiator started leaking at 45,000 so I replaced it and flushed system at 50,000. All in all I'm real happy with it even with these minor problems, it's always had plenty of power and I've never been stuck yet. Great 4 wheeler in the outback of Arizona. Never regret buying and would buy again if I needed another Jeep. It's a Jeep Thing. I've always owned a Jeep....read morehide

I bought it new 3 months and 7000 miles ago. Better ride and handling than I expected. Soft top is a little noisy but works great and sounds awesome when it rains. Love the styling more every day. I get lots of looks and compliments. Also lots of waves from other Wrangler owners. Very basic and no where near the comfort of my other car, but this is the one I love to drive. Can't imagine life without it....read morehide
