- Pros
- Better ride than my 2009 unlimited 4dr
- Cons
- Bought it at airport dodge in Orlando florida
Purchased As New
Traded my 2009 in dec. 2009 for a 2012 2dr with manual tranny. Had the old rims put in by the dealer and two days later one almost fell off and two others were loose. Three days later I got my jeep back with stock rims because the service manager Kevin savage made it clear that my family was not worth the price of a new rim. Soon after my dash brake light started coming on and after calling jeep customer care and filling a complaint, I was forced to take it back to airport dodge in Orlando on February 28th and was told that the engine knocking I was hearing was fine because some jeeps make lifter noise and that the brake light was fine because some of them blink and some don't. Well on my way home the engine noise resumed and the dash brake light came on again and I drove back to the dealer where a tech told the service manger that the lifters were bad at that point I told them I did not want the car. I let jeep customer care know about the issue and traded the jeep in. So I will never again buy an American car once I trade the new dodge I just got. For now my payment is higher and I am very disappointed. Our government should have allowed them to got under......read morehide

- Pros
- It's kind of a gas guzzler unless you drive slow all the time.
- Cons
- Not a bad ride. With the back seat up you have limited visibility in the back window.

It's a fun jeep. Something I've wanted for years. I've have my new 2011 Sahara for 7 months. I've had to take it in for service 5 times for water leaks. The freedom tops are a good concept, but air comes through when driving on a freeway. It comes and goes without even removing the top. The service guy at the dealership tried to feed me excuses for the leaks. He said: All jeeps are meant to be on a incline. So since my driveway is flat, I need to modify my driveway to be in a slope so the water can run off. 2nd: he said by opening the doors, the water from the roof goes into my jeep causing water to soak my carpet. This was at Crown Dodge jeep in Concord Ca. And after the 3rd incident, since i removed the sunroof, the service manager along with the Regional service manager stated i voided any chance lemon law and now set back the clock to the 1st incident when i took the jeep in the 4th time.. Be careful buying one of these. make sure they tell you, ALL convertables leak, as this is what they told me...Good luck!...read morehide

I bought my 2010 wrangler sport in aug of 2010 and i absolutely love it. have 25k on it now and havent had a problem yet. jeep is great off road and it is awesome to take the top down in nice weather. the sun rider top is nice if theres a chance of rain. love the jeep wave with all of the other jeep enthusiasts. ive been averaging 22mpg with my manual transmission and can get it to climb quickly if i try. dont believe the reliability ratings. mine has been great and my old 2000 wrangler ran for 200k without any major problems! will buy again and again....read morehide

- Pros
- smooth ride!
- Cons
- none

Purchased new in 2010, very pleased with the Wrangler inside and out. Seats are very comfortable, the ride is smooth. I wanted the 6 spd manual transmission and am very happy with it. Gas mileage is what I expected, average 21 mpg on the highway; if fuel economy was what I wanted, I would have bought a small sedan. Performance is excellent as well - the 3.8 liter 6 does a fine job. It's not a fast take off but it's not a race car -
I have the 3 piece hard top and am very pleased with it. Noise is minimal and the vehicle is tight.
What else can I say? it's a great vehicle and fun to drive! off road and on the highway!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Rugged and great in the snow. One of the best off road vehicles.
- Cons
- gass mileage.

Definitely one of the most recognizable vehicles on the road. I use it off road and go places I couldn't with my previous vehicles. Great car for driving in snow. Also the heater is very powerful. On the coldest days of winter it stays warm. My wife also loves it.

Had issues with soft top 2 days after purchase day. When I took it back to Milton Rubin. The Service Manager told me. Welcome to the world of a rag top. Owned another rag top at that time. No problem with it. 34,000 miles now and top has gotten worse.

I have wanted a Jeep Wrangler since I was in high school...I am glad I waited. As I wrote in the title, this is not your Daddy's Jeep Wrangler. Gone are the days of metal, hard plastics and few if any comforts. The new Jeep is (dare I say) more refined. The interior is all new for this year...another positive I believe that Fiat had had on Chrysler products. The dash is soft to the touch, and is very appealing, and the fit and finish of the interior is overall very nice. My unit has Sirrius radio/CD, 7 speakers, with a sub woofer, AC, very nice seats, power everything, auto tranny, and a 3 piece removable hard top. I chose the hard top stricly for insulation from road noise, heat and cold. For only $750 more...you should really consider it as well.
I don't know why everyone complains about the ride. The ride on good pavement is very acceptable. After all...It's a Jeep, folks!!...body on frame, off road suspension, big tires, short wheelbase...but it still rides almost as good as the Mazda 6 I traded for it...and that is saying a lot. Keep in mind the fact that I am a fairly short commuter, and don't plan to take the Jeep across country. But around town, the ride, comfort and features make my Jeep a pleasure to drive. In a nutshell...it is a lot of fun!
The 3.8 liter engine is the only drawback. With the A/C running...it strains a little to keep constant speed. It is also thirsty. I average ~ 17 mpg combined. Then again...it's a Jeep...4 wheel drive train, rather heavy, big tires. If I wanted 40 MPG, I would have bought a compact car, and I still believe it would not ride as well as my Wrangler does. Nor would I have a true off road and trail beast, that just cant wait to get dirty.
Like I said...a lot of the traditional "Jeepness" is still alive and well. But the fact that they included some really nice refinements makes the '11 Wrangler worthy of a second look. If you take one for a test drive, do yourself a favor and drive on both bumpy pavement, and the highway if you can. That is the only way you will be able to give the Jeep a chance to show both it's tough and soft sides. I think you will be as impressed as I am....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- A fun and rugged vehicle, the Freedom hard top
- Cons
- Fuel economy
Purchased As New
It's a Jeep people. It is built to be taken off road and on the trail. As a result Wranglers have a stiffer ride and all that comes with a short wheel base. It can be tricky to handle on slippery roads. But, it is a rugged machine that is a ton of fun to drive.
The front bucket seats are very nice. My 6' 2" son can ride in the back seat comfortably. When the back seat is not needed it folds up and there is a surprizing large amount of cargo area in the back. The front two sections of the Freedom hard top come off in 5-10 minutes - instant convertable! My wife and just can't help but smile when we cruise around with the top off.
The 3.8 liter V6 produces 200+ hp, which is adequate but not overpowering. Acceleration with the 6 speed manual transmission is decent, it is not a race car. While towing a 2,000 lb trailer the jeep feels solid and in control.
Trail rated Wranglers can take on fairly formidible terrain right out of the factory. They can go places few other vehicles can and come home intact. It's fun.
Fuel Economy: I am getting 21-24 mpg on the road and 15-17 mpg in 4x4 mode (compared to the 15-19 mpg rating given by the EPA).
Reviews give Jeeps poor ratings due to stiff ride, fuel economy, limited acceleration, and yes you do have to climb into the back seat. It is not a car and comparing it to Camry or Taurus makes absolutely no sense to me. If you want a car, buy a car. If you want a tough vehicle to take you around town on on the trail that is a blast to drive, get a Jeep....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
