Just about any Jeep owner will tell you that there are going to be things about your Jeep that will first annoy you but you will eventually get used to and tolerate. That's only partly true.
I've owned my 2012 Wrangler for about 16 months now. I've spent the last 4 months waiting on shifter parts to arrive at the dealership. If the temp drops below 60 degrees, I have to hold the transmission in 4th gear, or it will pop out. Add to that the fact that the chrome-colored trim ring on the top of the shifter broke off (and I'm still waiting on THAT to get fixed, too), and I'm getting annoyed with the dealership. At this rate, I may need a whole new transmission. The only other thing I personally find annoying about the vehicle is how long it takes to decide to actually route the air flow for the HVAC system where you want it to go. The system can take up to 20 seconds to figure out that you really want the air coming out of the defroster vents, not the floor vents. Other than that, I really enjoy the vehicle. It's fun to drive, has quite a bit of power now thanks to the new engines, and and it will move out when you need it to. I'm 6' 4" and over 300 pounds ... and I fit pretty well. You would expect a 4x4 with a short wheelbase to have a harsh ride, but the Wrangler is surprisingly smooth. Big bumps are still quite noticeable, but you'll have that with any vehicle. You can actually get the fuel economy up to 19+ MPG with careful driving, but on normal driving (for me) I'm averaging around 18+, combined street and highway driving. All in all, not a bad vehicle.
