- Have not had one problem with my 2004 Optima
Purchased As New
I have a 2004 Optima EX V6 I purchased amost 7 years ago, I have 113K miles on the car, and other than normal wear and tear and a small leak in the emission system, I have not had one problem with this car. I didn't change brake pads until 110K! This is the best car I have ever owned, and the first one I have paid off in a long time and I am going to drive it until it dies and then buy another Optima! I had a 2001 Optima that had an engine problem, engine had to be replaced and Kia took care of it with no questions asked. - Controls are a bit arkward and could be easier to use.

I looked at a lot of Mid-size Sedans (4 door) and the Optima was the best for the price. It put every American counterpart to shame. I did opt for the V-6 and IT is worth the extra money. The car is well appointed, far better than anything else in it's price range. It handles very well but fuel economy is not as good as KIA advertises but it is good enough for me, 18 to 19 in town and around 22 highway.
The warranty is better then most and again beats the American market hands down.
Last of all, it did not cost America and Stimulus Money !
