I purchased a 2011 Rio because I heard good things about it worse mistake I have ever made. I have only owned it for 10 months 7,000 miles and it has been to the dealer twice. This time they have already had it for 10 days because of the check enjine light AGAIN and they do not know how to fix it. I bought my white 2011 Kia Rio in May 2011. I love this car and all i ever get is how it is the perfect car for me. I am in my early 20s and im petite so being that this car is small it fits me well. I dont know how people could say this car is that bad but maybe because im not really that into cars. I am hoping there wont be alot of mechanical problems down the road. I just put tints on it and i love the look for me. I wouldnt say this is exactly a mans car (more so for taller men) my boyfriend kind of looks silly in it :-X . The seat left my back sore. Getting in and out is like crawling into and out of a narrow hole(I'm 5'9", 165lbs.). The car jumps at the lightest touch on the gas pedal, so instead of moving on 1" of snow the itty bitty tires just spin. The windows were constantly fogged even with the heater on, and turning it down to a comfortable level allowed the upper 3/4 of the windshield to ice over.

If you live where it snows, this car WILL leave you stuck sooner or later. If you're taller or wider than I am, good luck getting in and out. Worst car I've ever been in, my '96 Cavalier blows this thing away, which is just sad.

If this car sold for $5,000 fully loaded I might say it was worth it, but only because you could afford to replace the seats....read morehide

We love our 2006 kia. Small car drives like big car. Has great get up and go, up to 140 mph. Nice riding Only problem was engine ligt came on once. Think problem was with gas cap, but kia dealership did some unwarrarted work , like changing transmision fluid. at 25000 miles.Wife took car there.

I kind of rushed to purchase this vehicle because I had rented the 2010 version while on vacation and got good mileage. But after buying it I got the worst kind of buyers remorse. It is too small for my size,I have to push my very small and uncomfortable (horrible for long trips) seat back so there is not even enough leg room in the back for my 5 year old grandaughter. It has no power getting into the highway or going up a hill with the cruise control on!
And the gas saving are modest, at best.
I can't wait to trade it next year. I have a feeling I will get shafted again on the trade in value. After a little research I found out that there are better values for the money out there.This car is overpriced for what you get.This car would be great for granma to go to church on Sunday a mile away!...read morehide

I bought this card brand new in hopes of a car that got good MPG . I have had it for 1 week and have went through 1 tank of gas and only got 23 MPG !!!!!!!!!!!!! I am as unhappy as I can be ..... I traded in a car that got better gas MPG that that :-(

Make sure you stick to your maintenance plan. There are no maintenance manuals. My 2007 Kia Rio broke down completely with 40000 miles. 2011 KIa has same engine/trans. My tans and engine blew at 40000 miles. At 28000 miles I had to replace the master cylinder, the two calipers, brake pads and rotors. At 20k miles I had to replace the AC condenser.Kia will not stand by their warranty. I have conducted maintenance religiously. I had to abandon the car. Expect to be shafted with this car if you move. Kia dealerships are very territorial when honoring the warranty. Buyer beware....read morehide

I love this car. I had it for a little over two months and I have not have an issue yet. The gas mileage is amazing, never paid over $40 a week for gas. even though the prices are increasing. The back seat area is small ( really small) but I don't mind because I don't have many people in my car. I love the controls on the steering wheel, the trunk is way bigger than I thought it would be, and the front driver and passenger side is roomy for all most any size. (I'm 5'9 and my dad is 6'3 and we both fit in the car fine)

Overall I love that car. This is my first car and brand new car at that. SO far everything is great.
