I was sold on this vehicle after a friend had purchased a 2011 Sorento. I took several trips with him and was quite impressed with the overall ride, handling,economy,performance and comfort. Albeit,
he owns a high-end model and I owning a base 2012 Sorento the differences in general were moot.
I recently drove form Chicago to Florida and back and was amazed by the fuel economy on the
open road and to equally mention the comfort and lack of fatigue from driving such a long distance.
The cloth seats were very comfortable and provided good back support. It is certainly a great
convenience of being able to bluetooth your phone to the vehicles sound system leaving your
attention and hands to the task of driving. Grossinger KIA of Lincolnwood ,Illinois is where I purchased and have it serviced. They have for me been very informative ,efficient, courteous
and helpful in learning all the features of this vehicle. That is another plus in owning this safety
loaded SUV crossover. The only outside option I purchased was WeatherTech floormats,front
and rear. A good investment in keeping the carpeting spotless. I would definitely purchase

My purchase went too smooth but that was all that was smooth?..first my transmission is sluggish then my heated seat went..customer.service is something Kia knows nothing about! Their 800 line takes reports which go no where and they do not understand English!

With the exception of the faint intermittent squeal, this is a great car. I have 11,000 miles on it and it has run flawlessly. In the mountains of southern Utah and northern Arizona, the 4 banger engine worked a little harder, but that is to be expected. I have the option 3rd row seats and it has come in handy twice. purchased new up in Ontario Canada, Mar/2012, first long trip here to N,C., handled very will on the roads, good gas milage , Kia Canada is giving a gas credit , as we do not get the milage as it was stated on the door sticker which stated 7L/100km, so far I got a gas credit of $73.00 and that was with 16,000km on it , so all and all I,m very happy with my purchase....read morehide

I bought my 2012 Sorento one week ago, and i love it. My previous vehicle was a 2007 Acura MDX and the difference between the two vehicles was the gas mileage. After driving the Sorento i don't think i would ever buy any other brand.

Purchased 1OCT2011 - so nearly 1yr to date of ownership. We did a lot of research after totaling our 2003 Ford Expedition. We went from at 15k econo-box all the way to a 100k Porsche. We spent 5 months searching before finalizing on the 2012 Kia Sorento SX AWD.

We did not add any options. No sunroof, no "new car smell" stuff, just a stock SX AWD. The stock options blew us away. The navigation package is - well, OK, but works. Kia is a few steps behind on the latest technology: no HD radio; no proximity sensors; no LED DRLs (oh, no DRLs period); no adaptive cruise; no LDW (lane departure warning); no adaptive headlights; no HID headlights.

OK, so that was the bashing - no more. This thing is incredible. Compare side-by-side with the Infiniti FX35. Pricing out the FX I went well over 50k for the same performance, options and packages. Although the 276HP 3.5 of the Kia is not as powerful, my guess is that the Infiniti extra horses will not come into play between 0-75MPH. The Kia is a beast.

I choose the AWD for safety reasons. I cannot imagine not giving my wife a good fighting chance of getting unstuck or any other stability. We might take a MPG hit or two, but it's a chance I'll take for some peace of mind. Safety: umpteen-thousand'ish airbags... those numbers won't do any good if they don't deploy. I have no idea if they will, but it does have advanced head restraints; advanced frontal airbags; side air curtains; advance seat belt technologies; weight sensors; LATCH; etc...AND...earns the IIHS "TOP SAFETY PICK" in 2012.

Overall - I get to drive it every now and then, but NEVER, NEVER by myself. Wife doesn't trust my right foot; however, I did stop by a Kia dealer once after we bought it and took a ... ahem ... "test drive". If you know this "OMFG" acronym, then it's all good and I encourage all those who do know it to try the "test drive" thing. XD ~Murf...read morehide

Have 4 cyl - Milage not near what rated at - have over 4,000 miles, best was mid 20's on highway trip, most less. Lots of transmission whine at low speeds (Which dealer says is normal?) and ride is very firm - every pot hole, railroad track and or metal bridge covering - all let you know they are there.
