not a bad car

by Slava from Fort Worth, Tx (9/01/08)
Pros:not a real bad car
Cons:not a bad pricing either

I'd love it more with more styled wheels and tires( bigger, 16' or 17'),
fuel economy is good, drove one from Texas to Chicago, Il, no problems.
I think it just depends on the driver, the way you take care of it the way you rio will take care of the driver. It just needs some power mirrors, pwr windows and keyless entry. What I noticed they don't put that stuff on most rios.

Bad Car

by Matt from Phoenix, AZ (8/22/08)
Pros:Good on gas
Cons:Breaks down right after the warranty and during

This car seemed to be a great value at first.
My car leaked 3 times, radiator fan broke, clutch got damaged, window molding ripped off, fuse wiring burnt, power steering damaged, cv axle damage, and more, all that before the 100,000 miles.
Very fragile car, would never recommend a Kia to anyone. Please save your money and trouble by doing your homework and looking for a better car.

I LOVE MY CAR

by Drew from Yuma, AZ (6/19/08)
Pros:great fuel economy. Fun to drive. Good sound system even being stock.
Cons:Some road noise but the car it self makes up for it.

I was 19 when I got my 2007 Kia Rio LX. I love it today as I did when I drove off the lot with it. This is my first new car and I do not regret getting it. I love driving it and I love the MPG's. It is a beautiful car and I get heads turned, people cant believe it is a Kia. Kia is getting up there on thier vehicles and the Rio is one of them. Over all, I love my car, for any first time buyer on a budget, get this car, you wont regret it, at least test drive it before you say no!!

Bang for your buck.

by Craig Harridge from Tampa, FL (5/19/08)
Pros:Great mileage, fun, efficent vehicle
Cons:Some road noise

This is a great value. As a first time new car buyer, I am absolutely impressed with the great care of the Kia staff as well. This vehicle is practical, inexpensive, and definitely recommended to anyone as an entry-level sedan or hatchback.

My last vehicle was an Acura Integra, and I don't find the performance to be the least bit lacking for a car of its size. With a zippy 1.6L 4-cylinder engine and a curb weight of just over 1300 lbs, it has more than enough power to move its relatively diminuative frame.

Perfect commuting car!

by GasMiser from KC, MO (5/18/08)
Pros:I laugh at the gas pump!
Cons:Not much get-up-and-go

Love our Rio! We drove it off the lot one year ago and never looked back. It's perfect for commuting and travelling across town with the family. All that with a 5 star safety rating.

Great Little Dependable Lean Machine

by JBabione from Auburn, WA (4/25/08)
Pros:I get between 30-32 mph on my 2006 Rio. I have not ever had any problems with this car.
Cons:My local after sales personnel (finance paperwork) were terrible.

My car has been my 2nd most dependable car in my Toyota Celica (1977) and I like its ease of handling. The front end and back end are impossible to see when I am parking so I still have problems parallel parking this car--but all things considered, I can certainly live with it. The 10-year/100K mile warranty is great. The dealer service center is competent but not friendly. That is most certainly dealer-specific. I get about 30-32 mpg, depending on hy or street driving. I have 16,400 miles on my 2006 car (as of 4/2008). I did not add anything "extra" to the car (unless the radio/cd player is "extra").

zippy for city commute

by don from austin, tx (4/25/08)
Pros:great city car, for quick lane changes, parking and decent pick up speed
Cons:air louvers positioned bad for the driver, both blocked by steering wheel

If your looking for just that get to work, school, commuting type car, this is it. great on gas, good power when needed, easy to manuever in traffic and parking. also plenty of front seat leg room, not so much for the back passengers.
