Test drove ML 350, GL 450, Accura MDX, a couple of minivans and finally decided this matched space, functionality, performance, luxury, and value for money the best. We needed space for 3 adults and 3 kids and a whole load of luggage/strollers etc. I have had it for 7000 miles and as everyone else says look for excuses to take it out on the road it is so powerful, smooth and responsive. The stadium seating is comfy in the back but maybe an issue on a longer trip. I have a very annoying high pitched whistle at 35-50mph that LR so far cannot fix. Such a shame I may have to sell it or seek an exchange for this issue in an otherwise near perfect car... I have a LR4 HSE 2011 model...read morehide

This is a perfect car for a family. there`s lots of room, all of your thigs that you need fit in there and have you ever driven that thing off road? Absolutely superb!!
It is relieable, in fact. takes a bit of fuel, though. and if something does break down, it`s price is crispy.0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I really did my research before I purchased this SUV. I looked and read and saw so many videos... and test drove Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GL, Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, Chevy Tahoe, Nissan Armada, and finally the LR4. Hands down this one beat all. Although I would say the Mercedes GL was close, it just didn't have the room I needed it for. The LR4 has been great so far. A thing I should mention though...there were some issues with the electrical part of the SUV. I took it in and they fixed right away. So now it's fine. I am anxiously waiting for winter to come by and see how the LR4 does. :) The ride in this car is great, has great pick up for it's size and weight, the navigation is good...although sometimes the sun can shimmer on it and it's hard to see but you can adjust the brightness of it which helps. I really love the fact that you can lower the vehicle when getting on and off...really cool feature. The sound system...well Harman/Kardon make great speakers(sound system). Way better than Bose and Sony which I saw installed in other cars. You will have to give a few weeks to break it in if you buy it new. Just FYI. It took mine 4800 miles for me to break it in. And finally the most important...gas! It says 12 city/17 highway. I use both city and highway...I honestly average about 16mpg. I guess it all depends on how you drive. I drive a bit fast...and keep it at a consistent speed which I think helps. Also the tires...I have "summer" tires on now but will be getting winter tires come winter time. So I can't say if that will change. But non the less...I have found excuses to go "out" more...lol. It really drives great....it's a bit boxy but perfect for someone with pets, kids, and or packing things in it. Just be ready to fork some money at the pump. It is a lot of power and it requires a lot of gas. I'm happy and I hope this helps you! Good luck!...read morehide
