The Range Rover P38 model is a great reliable truck that goes wherever you need it to go. Very safe and amazing off road capabilities. Gas mileage is not that bad, wish it were better.
As long as you change the oil at least every 4-5k miles your good to go.
If your considering an upgrade on the stereo system, I'd say don't do it. If you do you'll open a can of worms you wish you hadn't. Matter of fact, you will not be able to successfully upgrade the stereo for under $2000 minimum and that's even if you can even get the new system to work. The stock stereo system (Harmon Kardon) with over a dozen speakers and a subwoffer is one of the best on the market. In other words, if it's not broken, don't fix it. You will be sorry if you attempt a change for several reasons. One being, you'll loose awesome features such as the use of majority of your speakers, and when I say majority, that means almost every one due to the fact that the speakers have built in amplifiers and will not work with after market equipment. It's common to have only two working speakers after the change. And secondly, you will be getting rid of the NOAA weather band radio station which is on the factory head deck. Great feature for traveling.
The HSE model is very fast when in sport mode and when in 4 wheel low it can pretty much go anywhere and through anything with the proper tires.
