- Quiet, Very Good Fuel Economy for a luxury car, great sound system
- IPod connector not standard
I was somewhat apprehensive in buying a hybrid but I wanted better gas mileage than my 2004 BMW 545 with all the bells and whistles. The GS450H is simply the most elegant hybrid on the market. You are unaware when the system is switching from gas to electric but you do see it in your gas savings. I do alot of city driving and I get close to 24 miles to the gallon and get all the preformance and luxery I want. And you get that Lexus ride that is so smooth. I read the previous review and it mention something about limited options, I can't imagine what else I could of gotten. The GS450H has everything from a great stereo, to a backup camera, a/c and heated seats, sunroof, even the passenger side has memory seats. So if you are looking for a luxury car with great preformance and ride, checkout the GS450H....read morehide

- Hybrid - clean and efficient, smooth drive, nav
- Some of the inside materials feel cheap
I love to drive this car!
Before my Lexus I drove a BMW 530 and before that a 911 Porsche. Each car had its good and bad things about them. At the moment the 450h is the car for me.
The small trunk has not been a problem because of its very usable shape. I can easily fit seven or eight shopping bags in the trunk at once. I can even fit one large Costco box plus other things! If I need to pick up a TV I'll take my wife's truck.
I love how it drives. Lexus has a very distinctive drive (SMOOTH) which I've come to love.
The Nav system is the best I've ever used. I needed to pick up Japanese food yesterday. I said "nearest Japanese restaurant" and it gave me the phone number. I called the restaurant over the bluetooth phone and made my order while the system directed me to the pick up location! Now that's service!...read morehide

We replaced a 98 GS400 with the 07 GS450h in February. An awesome car. Even more fun to drive than the 400. Lots of torque and aceleration surrounded by a cocoon of luxury..

- Fast, looks great, fuel economy, fast! Quality, dealer
- Small trunk
Best car ever. I can't stop looking at it. It drives so well, like a sports car. Could be roomier and trunk is very small. I feel so satisfied though, what an incredible car and there literally is NOTHING else like it. I love to talk about it with friends and family who have questins

- Great performance, nice exterior design
- Lack of trunk space, no ipod adaptor available
Prior to purchase, I test drove this car many times. Was indecisive between the 450h and another brand.
What attracted me to this car was the sleek design and it's performance.
Pick up speed was almost as good as my CLK500. It is true that the 450h does not have as tight handling as the BMW, but I'm buying this car for comfort and I don't want to feel every bump on the road like a BMW.
Due to the hybrid engine, this car is very quiet. I'm sensitive to noise so I like a quiet car. On the highway, the wind noise is not too loud, typical of luxury cars.
The interior is soft and plush. I also like the interior layout of the Lexus. The designers actually put lots of consideration to the driver.
There was plenty of leg room in the rear seats, except for my 6'4" friend who complained it was a little tight. I'm 5'10" and I didn't have a problem with the head room.
Now here is why I was hesitant to purchase the 450h.
There is almost no trunk space. One must actually see the lack of trunk space with their own eyes before purchasing the 450h.
It's enough to fit couple of medium sized suitcases or only one golf bag.
Well, one might think that you can get more trunk space by folding down the rear seats. No can do with this car. Since the batteries are located between the rear seats and the trunk, you cannot make more room in the trunk. The batteries are the reason why the trunk space is limited.
I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out but the GS has a slight feminine look. The IS looks a little more aggressive but I'm not young enough to be driving the IS.
For those who are comparing between the GS models, (450h, 430, 350) since Lexus upgraded the 330 to a 350, they'll probably upgrade the 430 to a 460. You might want to get a 460. I'm sure that model will have higher performance than the 450h. Since the 450h uses a 3.3L gas engine, I wonder if they'll upgrade to the 3.5L engine...
Most likely, a person who's buying this car is not really thinking about gas prices and conserving gas. Therefore you should not think that you'll get great gas mileage. I always take 10% off of the gas mileage rating for real world driving. So depending on your driving style you'll probably get somewhere around the mid 20's.
My overall satisfaction is not 5 stars due to the lack of trunk space and a few minor tidbits, but people have different tastes and personalities and the 450h seems to fit me pretty well....read morehide

- Superb engine - drivetrain
- Too much weight and electronics
I test drove the car last week. The dealer was extremely polite. The car is too luxurius for my taste, full of gadgets and electronics. The styling is rather old looking especially in the inside. The worst part is the handling of the car, because of the weight and the electronics you dont actually drive but it drives for you. It is so soft even in sport mode that reminds old 80ies car.
The best part is the engine. It gives you the feel of an aircraft taking off along with complete absence of any noise, tremble whatsoever. The power delivery comes non stop from the moment you press the pedal until reaching top speed. It easily exceeds speeds of 200km/h without even noticing it. The average consumption was 11lt/100km!
I cannot imagine what would happen if you put this engine-drivetrain into a vehicle half the weight of the GS. I wish Lexus would use this powertrain to a lightweight sport model....read morehide

- QQQ = quality, quick, and quiet, choice of suspension performence added!
- Trunk space.
Toyota is taking over GM and becoming N0.1 seller in the world. Lexus won 1st place of J.D Power award (I don't remember how many times, but Lexus has toped any others auto makers for years). How can Toyota/Lexus do that? Their produsts are wining more drivers I think!
I have LS400 and GS400 and I only have changed oils, filters. and tires since they were new. LS400 is comfortable. GS400 performs well (it would be better if Lexus provided choice of suspension performence for GS400). Since Lexus makes newly designed LS460 and GS450h available, I am thinking to trade my older Lexus for new one. After weeks research and test drive (BMW, Lexus, and MB), I am going to put my money down for a GS450h. My second choice is Lexus LS460, and third choice is BMW M3 (I will consider M3 if I ignor comfort, noise, and repair cost). Again, Lexus won....read morehide

- Smooth, quiet and fast, Lexus reliability, air conditioned seats - nice
- Tight headroom, small trunk, no Ipod aux input
Subtle car that doesn't scream "costs a lot". It's a golf cart - which is a good thing. It is seamless technology and it is the future. Disappointing reviews from car mags vs Benz, BMW and Infiniti, but it is a Lexus. A Lexus is not a race car - it is a quick cocoon of luxury.
Not much negotiating because there aren't that many on the road, but I'd rather not have an Eclass like a million others on the road. That said - it is difficult to differentiate from a regular GS. No all wheel option - it would be even heavier.
You won't save the world with gas savings, but the technology is interesting and it is a quality car....read morehide
