Just read a review from Motor Trend comparing the GS350 with MB E350, BMW 535XI Audi A6. Probably the most honest review that I have read. The GS came first, and all for the right reasons. I just love reading comments bashing MT for picking the GS350 over the BMW. Lexus had a big job to do in designing the GS, to be able to rival the Germans. And that it does. There is absolutely nothing lacking in the GS, and where it wins over the others is the excitement and connection the driver has with the car. No excuses here. Its the total package. But how can a Japanese car company hurt the German imports. By responding. In 1990 Lexus was born and introduced the LS400. A great competitor to the S Class which was 25000.00 more. In the midst of the economic downturn the LS became the benchmark and set a whole new affordable standard. Those like me who did not need a badge to prove my net worth became very loyal customers to Lexus, and few have moved away, other than for the badge. Lexus is probably the most reliable luxury brand on the road, and needs not take a back seat to anyone. But there are always the skeptics that will defend a BMW or Audi or MB. My wife just purchased a 2012 CLS550 4matic and when I test drove it fell in love immediately. It has been in the shop 3 times in the month that she has it, and each time has not been properly fixed. That is three times more than the previous RX400H and RX450H that I owned. Lexus provides valet service, none of the others do. Valet service includes a loaner of equal value at no charge except gas. The only annoying aspect of the service is their relentless follow up. I would encourage anyone to test drive the new GS and you don`t need the Fsport package either. Just don`t make negative comments about something you know nothing about.
