2006 Lexus GX 470 Sport Utility

- For an SUV it has great fuel economy. There is no exterior noise on the interior
- The mirrors are a bit generic
I LUV my SUV. I'm totally satisfied with the Gas Mileage I average 17.0 in the City For a SUV that is pretty amazing. If your getting less it may be the way you drive. The blue tooth works great and I like having my Lexus Link. The Lexus dealership was AWESOME! Thanks to Doug at Lexus of Colorado Springs. It was certainly worth the trip....read morehide

- AWESOME SUV, PERFORMANCE, COMFORT, FIT AND FINISH, EVERYTHING
- NEEDS MORE ROOM IN THE REAR.
I BOUGHT THE THE LIMITED EDITION W/KDS SUSPENSION. AN UNBELIEVABLE DRIVING EXPERIENCE. I READ SOME OF THE OTHER COMMENTS AND I GARRANTY THEY NEVER TEST DROVE A LEXUS GX470. THEY MAY BE CONFUSED WITH BRANDS. THE PERSUITE FOR EXELENCE/PERFECTION HAS ARRIVED AND IN THE SUV WORLD THE GX470 IS THE VERY BEST. I CANT WAIT UNTILL LEXUS MAKE A GX HYBRID....read morehide

- Handsome exterior, luxurious interior.
- Loud engine and road noise. Cramped interior space.
Good looks. Lexus reputation, and brand loyalty drawn us to purchase this truck. Compared to the 2002 RX300 that we had, and the LX 470 that we currently own, the level of refinement and material quality is dissapointingly un-Lexus. This vehicle drives and feels like a TRUCK! Unrefined abrupt acceleration and squeeky breaks are disappointing. Space is a bit cramped, it actually feels tighter than the ES interior....read morehide

- GPS System is wonderful, very sweet looking truck, smooth ride, all the luxury features inside.
- V8=more fuel, Side opened rare door, all time 4 wheel drive
I just bought the 2006 Lexus GX470, and what a choice i have mad, just excellent, i am sure in time Lexus will work on all the cons listed but over all i recomend this vehicle to anyone.I have read some reviews and what i could say is that Mr. WHAT A WEAK V8 doesn't know that much about car since this truck is all wheel drive it will have a slower pickup than a front wheel drive car, get the facts straight before writing. the bluetooth technology is fantastic. One suggestion for those of you who are buying, get the navigation system because that comes with the upgraded audio system, you get the Mark Levison system which rocks. I have only got my car 2 weeks now, i will be writing more as i keep enjoying it. Good car, buy it!!!!!!...read morehide

- Ride fantastic, reliability without peer
This is my fourth Lexus, two sedans and two GX470's. I like to trade every 2 years to avoid high dollar cash requirement for trade-in. Ride is fantastic, driver fatigue is the best it could be, standard features are probably more than anyone needs or will regularly use, but they are good resale advantages. Gas mileage is what you would expect for a large SUV, engine power and passing acceleration is excellent Navigation system is a bit tricky, but the dealer has a one-on-one training session (including bluetooth installation) with in-house specialist if you request it. Dealer service is excellent (except no loaners unless car will be in the shop an entire day, or overnight) and with all four Lexus models I have owned, (some more than 2 years) I have never had a mechanical problem...just tires, battery, regular oil changes and service. The cost of dealer-suggested regular service is a bit expensive beyond 10,000 miles. Overall, I will probably never any car other than another Lexus....read morehide

- Unfortunately this is not the best.
- So, far have found no cons.
So far, I have found it lovely to drive, well built, and so many amenities for the price. We love it. It sort of makes me feel like it could almost drive itself down the highway. SMOOTH & comfortable.

- Family comfort, leather and GPS comes standard!
- Fuel economy could be improved by adding a hybrid option
I would say this SUV is one of the best in it's class because many desirable options come standard including leather, GPS, and a V8 engine! This is the best family SUV out there with all the options you could imagine! I would suggest test driving it today!

- Exellent Fit and overall quality
This car is a very good investment if you are looking for quality. The car handles beautifully, and has plenty of power the interior is very well appointed and the controls are very user friendly.

- Fit and Finish, Ride, Mark Levinson, Bluetooth
- Nav too fussy, small third row, rear side hinged door, heated seat switch placement, permenant 4WD
I recently purchased a 2006 GX 470 with the Navigation/Mark Levinson package in Nautical Blue Metallic with dark gray interior. The vehicle itself is beautiful inside and outside. The interior is a little dated however still very classy and functional. Fit and finish is impeccable and to Lexis standards. The ride is very smooth and stunningly quietyou would not believe you are riding in a truck based SUV! The Mark Levinson system is good but not much better than the Bose system I had in my previous vehicle. The V8 is silky smooth and more then adequate to power the vehicle. I read the other reviews of people complaining that the V8 is too weak. This is not a sports carits an SUV! Handling is direct and responsive with good road feel for a vehicle of this size, unlike the vague steering found in GM SUVs (I know this first hand being a former Suburban owner). The GX is also very stable going around corners. Bluetooth connection is very easy and a great feature because all you have to do to answer calls is to push a button on steering wheel which is great safety feature. Of course no matter how great every vehicle is, they still have their cons. The navigation system is a little too fussy: you have switch from region to region if you are going to do any traveling between states and require assistance. Third row is too small and almost useless unless used for small children. Also, the switches for the heated seats are placed awkwardly in deep into the center console. The side hinged rear door is awkward to use at times especially when on sloped roads. Lexus should adopt a power liftgate system found in the RX350. Instead of a permanent 4WD system, Lexus should use a selectable system similar to GMs Autotrac. This would help save gas. Fuel economy is bad but that is to be expected with a SUV. But no matter what Lexus should try to improve on the gas mileage especially with gas prices the way they are nowadays or try alternative fuels like E85. Overall the GX470 is a great SUV that I would highly recommend to anyone....read morehide
