- No trim specified for this review
- Very comfortable ride - for a truck, fantastic sound system, great classic look
- Fuel economy not so good, Centre Console finish scratches easily
Have had the vehicle for one year and still really enjoy driving it... The rear cargo area is very spacious (with third row seating removed) - Great for carrying your dogs!
The only real issue I have with this vehicle is a few of the finishes seem cheap at this price (instrument cluster lens and centre console finishes scratch very easily) - Otherwise a very fine SUV....read morehide

- good looking; luxurios
- very poor third row seating design; not enough storage space; fuel
Overall very good vehicle; however the design of third row seating is very poor and disappointing; seats fold to side and very poorly just hooked with a belt (seems cheap way of designing it) It eats part of cargo space. Other vehicles have very nice third row seat design; i.e. automatically folds forward and you don't lose any space; Surprising why lexus did not design that....read morehide

- 18 mpg is good for SUV of this size and caliber, Mark Levinson audio, navigation, looks.
- None that I can think of. It just works.
This SUV is tops in my book. It has the looks, the power and decent fuel mileage numbers. It also has everything you need for an SUV, especially for off-roading. Now, I don't do a lot of off-roading, but there may be quite a bit in my future as we are looking to buy a cabin in Utah. And, boy, will the GX be ready for that...Downhill assist, 2nd start, 115v power, the list goes on.
I traded in my Mustang GT for this as we needed room for our infant daughter and I just think the GX is out of this world. Also, the height control is great for accessing the car seat as it lowers the car almost 2 inches in the back....read morehide

- awesome ride, great GPS, clean looking
- 18 miles to gallon
This is my second time around with the GX 470, I shopped around before I got into this new one, and the reason why I got another GX 470 was that nothing out there in an SUV compares to the ride, the looks, the luxury of this ride! Everything else that I looked at or drove was to cheap looking, and rode too much like a truck. This is an awesome ride, just wish the gas mileage was better....read morehide

- Nothing over any other luxury SUV
- Lots of them, read comments below
I came from a 2005 Volvo XC90. Bought this Lexus without driving it or even sitting in it. It does not hold a candle to the Volvo. It is difficult to get in (I am 5'7", female), feels like sitting in a truck, the third row seating is a joke (took them out). There is not much cargo space (compared to the Volvo). The second row seating is terrible when folded. It folds against the front seats and uses a lot of space to do so. There is no passage through the front bucket seats to the back (pets, children, items in back) when the second row seat is folded up. The Volvo second row seat folds into the floor, totally out of site and flat, as does the thrid row seat. On this Lexus the rear (fifth) door is poor planning. it does not stay open by itself and if a vehicle is parked behind you, the door can not open fully. The bluetooth does not work clearly ( I am told it sounds like I am in a barrel). The fuel latch is difficult to reach if you are seated. The mirror controls are too far away to position the mirrors in your normal driving position. There is no quick way to use speed control to a/c. Actually I could go on and on........read morehide

- Stylish vehicle that works great for selling real estate! Functional yet classy!
- Gas mileage not great! Cup holders and interior storage compartments not good!
I am a realtor/grandmother that has owned lots of new vehicles, but this is my first SUV. After having my '06 Avalon totalled at the end of '07, I had no idea what I wanted to buy.............just that I needed a vehicle a.s.a.p. that both my clients and real estate signs would fit into! I notice most of the reviews complain about the small 3rd row seat..............it was the first thing I took out ! (very easy removal!........I have them saved in my basement for when I trade the vehicle in). I have a Husky Cargo Liner in the back which works great for muddy signs and I have the cargo net (turned vertically in the trunk) filled with sign riders, sledge hammer, screw driver, measuring tape, scissors, pliers, etc.) This is a great work vehicle but also a fun, classy vehicle for play! On the downside is the side opening, non-motorized rear door which does slam shut in the Western Ks. wind or when opened when the vehicle is sittling in a sloped parking spot...............Also terrible cup holders! Hopefully these things will be corrected when I buy my next one!...read morehide

- Not too bad on fuel. GPS is awesome, very easy to understand. Great ride, very smooth.
- 3rd row seats are for children only. Not enough leg room for an adult. No back up alarm.
I absolutely love this car. I have previously owned a tahoe and two escalades and they did not compare to the Lexus GX 470. I travel a lot and I am very satisfied with the gas mileage. I average 18 mpg on highway and in town. The GPS system is great, just takes time to learn how to use it. I love the bluetooth, can't image not having it. Back seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room. Mine is black with black interior so it turns a lot of heads! Very stylish! I like the way the 3rd row seats fold up so you do not have to remove them in order to carry a load of stuff. The sound system is unbelievable. I could go on and on about this car. The only thing I do not like is that it does not have a back up alarm. Yes, it does have the back up screen, but, for safety reasons I prefer the alarm....read morehide

Traded to the GX470 after 8 years in minivans. WOW!! 3rd row seating is in the way except for small children. But overall, I'm thrilled. Didn't even drive it before I bought it.....sat in it, cranked it up and asked where to sign.
Fuel mileage is what I expected....ride is superb....get up and go can set your heart a flutter....read morehide

- awesome driving vehicle, best gps system i have ever used
- no storage space, no good reason for putting 3rd row seating- its too small
I love my Lexus, I have had it for 3 great years. I only have one child right now who is 8 years old but I am pregnant for my 2nd child; the suv WILL be too small for everything that goes along with a baby and other children. Also, when my husband, child and myself would go on vacations (airport), we were tightly packed in. As for the ride, its the best driving suv vehicle I have ever driven. In the past I have had a toyota sequoia which was very top heavy and a few toyota 4-runners which are about the same as the lexus but doesn't have the luxury or features. If I had older children, I would purchase another one tommorrow. The gps is the best compared to jaguar, cheverolet and mercedes benz -- it is the easiest to use also....read morehide
