2007 Lexus IS 250 User Reviews
6-Speed Manual shown

- Looks fantastic, Handles amazingly, Interior is uber luxurious
- brake dust is very annoying,
This is a fantastic car. It hugs the road like no other car but without sacrificing ride quality as say a BMW would. The interior is a dream. I have black leather with the wood dash trim it looks so beautiful. The engine is smooth and well balanced and feels quick. I would have liked an awd option on the 350 model, but you can't win them all. Quality is top-notch this car even has cooled seats for those dreadfully hot days....read morehide

- Good gas mileage, fit build, great ride, great styling.
- Nav controls not fully functional while car is in motion.
The ride is very smooth and quiet, both on short drives as well as distances. Back seat is very usable and comfortable for the passengers that have sat back there. Sound system is great as well. Love all the accessories. For only 204HP, pick up is good.

- good fuel economy, great sound system, handles well, great look, comfortable, clean, eye catcher
- no one can sit in the back seat
Have enjoyed driving it and it gets a lot of attention. People think it is worth a lot more than it was! It handles well on the road, feel that I have a lot of control. Makes life easy, no key, push button, LED lighting, power everything, looking forward to the cooling seats in the summer, hopefully it works as well as the warming seats in the winter....read morehide

- Looks, Interior Luxury, Handles great.
- Could use more HP.
For a sports car it's a little light on HP but that was a sacrafice for the AWD. If I wanted HP I would have gone for the 350.
Good gas mileage. Fun, easy to drive car. Will be waiting for some snow to test out the AWD. Everyone who sees the car loves it.

- Great Looks, lots of options and $7000 less than BMW
- Cramped back seat, not enough HP with the AWD model.
I was looking at a BMW 328Xi for about $46,000. A bit pricey for less options than what my IS (AWD) came with. I saved about $8,000 and got a lot more! The Navigation system is nice once you learn it. I love the bluetooth hands free set up for compatible cell phones. The Xenion headlights that move with the car is a great feature. It's nice to drive a car that handles well, looks great and talks to you while you think you're lost! This is a great luxury sports car. Things to improve: Back seat leg room, more horse power with the AWD model, better gas mileage (21/24). Other than a few minor things, Lexus really has a winner here!...read morehide

- What a looker! Styling is stunning. Not too many around either.
- Back seat is cramped. Navigation takes some getting used to.
Bought this car about 3 weeks ago for my wife. Have not purchased a nicer "new" car for many years and was amazed at the lmulti-generational improvements. Have owned a BMW about 18 years and loved it. Test drove a 325 ix and I think the Beemer handles a tad better but you can't compare the interior amenities and styling and overall quality. Really liked the dealer too. Got the royal treatment from start to finish.
Now I want one....read morehide

- Excellent fit and finish.
- Maintensive intensive/expensive.
Well finished off vehicle with many features standard such as the tire pressure monitoring system, keyless entry, etc... The usual Lexus fit and finish are evident throughout. A little lacking in acceleration so you won't win any stoplight drag races, especially to the new V6 Camry. Extended highway cruising is the vehicles forte.
Maintenence will be costly, especially replacing the ultra high performance 18" tires(which almost all vehicles will have), since they cannot be rotated and will be worn by 20K. But I guess if you can afford the IS you shouldn't complain about the maintenance costs. Another potential negative about the IS is that it seems to be prone to curbing the wheels. This is probably a function of the design which places the wheels farther outboard than on most other vehicles. So be warned.
This is a small car, much smaller than the Camry/ES350, closer in size to the Corolla. The rear is designed for children, not adults. And those children should be younger than six if they are to be truly comfortable.
In short, this is the perfect car for a young couple or those young at heart with other, larger vehicles in the household....read morehide

- Comfort, Luxurious, Extremly Quiet Cabin, ZERO Body Roll, AMAZING Body Style, AIR-COOLED Seats!!!!
- Back seat is a bit tight but definately useable, 350 has more power but 250 still has Great Pick-Up!
This car is amazing... It has just about everything you could need in an ENTRY-Lux Class!! The options available on this car surpass BMW and Audi by quite a lot! The Ventilated (Air-Cooled) Seats on the IS are amazing!! I live in Houston and these seats are the greatest invention in my opinion!!! These are not even an option on any other car in its class!! Not to mention the amazing value you are getting, if you put all of the features that come standard on the IS in the 325i BMW your looking at about $3,000 difference between the IS and BMW! Its just a great value and the handling is definately on par with BMW in my opinion! If you are only interested in how the car drives then yes the BMW Still wins but if you care about ride, comfort, luxury, or any other necessary category the obvious winner is Lexus! Good job with this one Lexus......read morehide

- looks, luxury, all wheel drive, quality of materials
- backseat is pretty much useless, needs a bit more torque, can use nav only when stopped!!
i love the exterior design and the luxurious interior; the cabin
feels somewhat cramped but the seats are nice and supportive.
