I have owned this car for almost two years now, and this car is amazing. It has wonderful speed, great handling, and wonderful breaking power. The seats mold right to the driver, and everyone who ever gets in compliments on how compfortable it is. I avg around 23mpg moslty all city, and on the hwy ive gotten up to 32 mpg but avg around 28.5. In the city ive driven this thing like a rocket, and still get 21mpg as the worste. Lexus as usual holds up to its name with wonderful cust service, and great reliablity (ive had only one problem and it was fixed) The car is also very quiet inside while driving, and for a sporty suspension it still rides like a luxury car.
As for some negatives. The car has wider rear tires ( RWD) and therefore you cant rotate the tires which equals new tires every 20kmiles. At $1,000.00 for 4 tires it aint cheap. Also the breaks do wear pretty fast as well which are expensive as well. The back seat can hold 2 adults, but i wouldnt reccomend it for a long road trip, and ive had some issues with the small opening on the trunk that wouldnt fit in a few avg size boxes. All in all, if you want a great priced car to get into the Lexus ownership, and gets great MPG with wonderful speed, all with reliablity, then this is your car!...read morehide

- Sweet looking ride
- None so far
I love my IS350; it looks and ride awsome. Well... as for the look i put some Tanabe dual exhaust in, and new 19' chrome to complete the look. Test drive a bunch before i bough the IS350. i test out the Mer C350, BMW 300i...but over all the IS350 won me over. Get this car, unless you want an IS F. hahahah as for me i am happy with the IS350 for now, i might get the IS F next year....read morehide

- Great looking car, comfortable, decent acceleration
- not really a sports car, but is "sporty"
I test drive two of these while shopping for my new car recently. It is decent in terms of acceleration BUT it is not as fast as lexus claims. the fastest one ever test hit 60mph in 6.0 seconds, not 5.4 as claimed by lexus. Also, the sterring is numb to be nice, the ride is soft and the car does not feel linked to the road and cannot communicate with the driver. Although, if you just want a luxo sporty car, this is abetter then the BMW 328, which as BMW's do, breakdown far to much for the price. In the end I decided a real sports car was what i personally wanted and went with a 350Z. After driving the two there is no comparison. The 350Z will and has in comparison test run circels around the lexus.
bottom line if you want a true sports car this isn't it. if you wnat a fast and comfortable car that does not really do anyone thing very well but does everything pretty good this is a great car....read morehide

- Excellent Acceleration. Great Interior Amenities!
- Back-seat leg room.
Good fuel economy for that size engine. Great power, especially with the power switch on. Excellent quality interior, especially the leather and electronic equipment. The competition namely BMW & Mercedes simply don't compare to this Lexus quality; and this is coming from a previous BMW owner....read morehide

- best interior in its class, excellent acceleration, bluetooth, GPS, great stereo
- steering is a bit soft, nav system lock, no change holder, second cup holder is ackward
I test drove the BMW 328i, 335i, Mini Cooper S, Audi A4 2.0T & 3.2 Quattro as well as the IS 250 and 350. I ultimately bought the black/tan 2007 IS 350 w/Premium Package & ML stereo, chrome wheels.
I had narrowed my choice down to the 335i and the IS350. Overall, the IS 350 was the best overall package.
The 335i handled better. It's a really fun car to drive! However, the IS handles well also, and in my opinion, unless you plan on racing your car on a track - the difference will be negligible. If you plan on racing a car.....buy something else or wait for the IS-F. The auto transmission, which some people think is unacceptable for a "sports" car is very responsive and the manual shift mode with the paddle shifters is fun, but I honestly rarely use them.
I did not get the sport suspension, as I did not feel I needed it - the ride is smooth - but you can definitely still feel the road.
I think the 335i and IS 350 are equal as far as acceleration. Make sure you test drive the IS a bit with ECT Power ON. QUICK and FAST!!!
So,... what made me pick the IS? The interior is awesome. The seats are super comfortable, the Mark Levinson stereo is great. The bells and whistles, like bluetooth, GPS/Nav systsm, XM radio...all of it make driving the car that much more pleasant - and I live in LA, so I wanted to have a car that is also comfortable as a daily driver, as I do have to sit in traffic! The Lexus hands-down has a more luxurious interior.
I've had my IS 350 for 3 months and I love it. I have no regrets on my decision. And I spent way less $$$ on the IS than to get a less equipped 335i (coupe). And, unlike more snobby people might think as a put-down - I bought Toyota reliability (and great Lexus service)....read morehide

- Beautiful, hi-tech, Great performance, better mpg than expected, Absolute candie for the eyes...
- Impressive from bumper to bumper
This "automobile" makes you wonder: "how do they do that". EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS TREMENDOUSLY. The quality interior, fit and finish exterior. And that navigation system is absolutely amazing. Long drive displays: gas, atm, lodging, upcoming exits, etc, etc, etc. Would highly recommend to anyone who wanted to turn their dream vehicle into reality.....WOW EFFECT!...read morehide

- all up/down one touch windows, running daylights,
- the people have spoken, release the navi
This is our 3rd lex - had 2001 ls400, 2006 ls430 and now the 07 is350. my wife and i wanted a car between us to drive approximately 75 miles a day 7 days a week. my wife wanted a small luxury sedan and i wanted something sportier. we have recent bmw experience (06 330 ci/06 7) and beamer is a great car but we find the steering to be way too tight/responsive and we both tend to hear the bumpy sounds bumpier. our neighbor has many cars amoungest them some new beamers and they and those kids luv beamers. they describe the ride as sporty with a quiet cabin. okay. they took our 330ci and we replaced it with the 07 mb 350 convertible and my wife enjoys that much better. replaced the bmw7 w/o7 s600. anyway, we aren't big loyal fans to cars. no perfect car yet. we've owned many, turning over cars every other year. we do seem to go back to lexus now and then. we like the fit and feel of lexus & the is350. we can't complain about the brake dust -certain mbenz, bmw's have that problem too. small back seat, well we knew that going in. gas cost is not an issue for us however gas mileage is not so good when you ride really fast & hard but we can get about 300+ miles per tank, yes. the sound system is good. our is350 is black w/tan interior. on sidewalls, 18inch tires beg for nails and screws. we've gone through 3 rear tires but that was expected with soft performance rims/tires in other cars too. our lexus service has overall been a tad better than benz and bmw. our benz dealership returns our cars at times dirtier and they might take several times to get a problem right. bmw service was good. we found they don't find any problems we describe so we felt our time is wasted as the closest dealership was 100miles away. when they finally do find the problem they fix it. lexus seems always like they have to try harder and for the most part they do. cars are returned clean, problems described are fixed. one can't go wrong with any comparible car in the class of the is350. if you wanted more backseat room do the research before plopping down $40K+ OR buy a big luxury sedan or h2 hummer. 2 changes would like to see lexus make (1)unleash the navi. maybe they are trying to make a statement with safety or avoid being sued. our way around that was to buy a portable gps system and plug it in when we have no time to pull over. (2) awd for people in cold weather climates - maybe due out like now. i'm 6'5, wifey 5'9 and we both find head/leg room acceptable. think if i had to drive a thousand continuous miles it would become uncomfortable. little things we like that the is350 provides is running daylights, all one touch windows, multiple seat settings, hid lights, 6change cd in dash, quiet cabin, bluetooth & a sassy turn radius. no problems yet with very bad vibrating rearview mirror. usually when we max the sound systems all rearview mirrors in cars shake badly. when the sound system is on at "hear people speaking level" mirror no problem. with the roof open very little vibration. bottom line is we both would recommend this car....read morehide

- It has everything you could imagine. It practically drives itself!!!
- Soft ride, but it depends on what you like. Want a race feel, buy something else.
When I bought the car, I was very impressed with everything that is has. The car drives itself. the Navigation is the best in the industry and is all voice activated. You never have to lift up your phone and just speak while in the car. The power in the car is unheard of. As you can see, Infinity and BMW just released cars with close to the same horse power, but they are only two years behind. The only two down falls I see with the car is the smooth ride and the back seat space. If you do not like a very smooth, relaxed drive then this is not the car for you. Also, the leg room in the back seats is cramped. Outside of this, no other car can compare. The service at a lexus Dealership is unheard of. The last time a went to the dealership, they replaced my brakes for free just because I complained that there was alot of brake dust. Who else does that!!! Make sure you drive the car and you will see that nothing compares to this car....read morehide

- Good accelleration-
- Its still a toyota any way you slice it, ride is rubbish
The car has a marshmallow soft ride that cannot handle very well, and the dealers are marking them up demanding the same price premiums as mercedes and bmw, what a major rip off, your better off leasing a bmw for much less and you'll get a much better ride.
