Purchased As New
Bought my first IS –F when the car first hit the market in 2008. Overall a great and fun car to drive. The only problems were the noisy brakes and a very stiff suspension system. The stiff ride I expected and it was very well documented in all of the car reviews I read. The squeaky brakes I did not expect from a brand name car as Lexus nor the price of the car. After two letters and 4 trips to Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis, the problem was finally fixed. Lexus never admitted it was a factory defect, which made getting the repairs done under the vehicle’s warranty a hassle, Lexus eventfully did published a technical bulletin along with a remedy. Although it was a stressful, time consuming experience, thanks to a customer orientated and highly professional service staff at Mungenast of St. Louis, the problem was resolved at no cost to me. In November 2011 I replace my 2008 with the IS F 2012 model. Although overall no major changes in the vehicle’s performance, there was a major improvement in the suspension system and the way vehicle handles itself on the highway. The new BBS forged alloy wheels along with the LED running lights are an eye catcher. Highly recommend this car, if you are under six feet tall, however, be advised this is a high performance sports vehicle and not just a sports car. It’s a fast and fun drive, but not cheap. It has a costly maintenance schedule.
