2006 Lexus LS 430 Sedan
There are 18 user reviews for the Sedan trim shown below
- Fully loaded with lots of electronic gadgets and an excellent sound system
- Too smooth a ride. Really expensive (but worth it if you can afford it.)
This car is reliable, fast, manuverable and luxurious. I would highly reccommend it if this is the price range you are looking at.
The cars turning radius is so good that it is more manuverable than
my old Mazda 323.

- soft to drive, excellent features, good navigation
- some LS 400 series have transmission problems above 100 k mileage, battery drains quickly
Totally awesome car to drive. luxury is unbeatable that gives full pleasure of riding. i love to drive the sedan compared to suv of lexus. LS 430 fulfills all the merits of a perfect luxury car.

- Comfort, Reliability, Amenities, Super-quiet, fast (if you wish it to be)
- GPS Navigation can be a little better
I owned '95 LS400, '99 LS400 and now '02 LS430. Its reliability is excellent, second to none. Compared with LS400, handling of LS430 became more solid and stable. It has full potential to be a fast car, but this car makes you relaxed and you end up drive it graciously. AC is powerful, audio system is superb in quietest cabin among any cars. It was not until I got an external Navigation (Garmin Nuvi 350) for my other SUV that I realized current GPS system can be 3 times more user friendly than Lexus 2002 GPS system to program. I am sure Toyota must have updated it, though. By the way, when I had LS400 in NY, I had 4 studless tires (Blizzack) and it was just as reliable in winter as our Subaru Outback AWD to drive around snow storms, thanks to transmission system for "snow". Finally Lexus turned out to be an extremely easy car to sell (excellent liquidity) everytime we decided to sell. That backs up a claim that "it is a good investment"....read morehide

- Smooth & Quiet Ride, Excellent Fit & Finish, Outstanding Performance
This is by far the best car I have ever owned. Have never returned to the selling Dealer except for routine maintenance. The Lexus dealership (Lexus of Charleston) South Carolina is very professional and the personnel there are very courteous and friendly. Great place to purchase a vehicle....

- reliability. quiet cabin. fit and finish. Mark Levinson Audio!!!
- body roll/sway is a little excessive. Downshift way too slow when flooring the gas.
I have 2005 model. LS 430 is what it is advertised to be -- very comfortable when drive/handle very slowly (slow turn, slow gas application, ...) therefore straight freeway cruise is great. The quiteness is unsurpassed -- engine, wind, road noise is minimal at any speed. Lots of nice/luxury appointments that are pleseant surprises to me.
The handle/ride is ok for the targeted buyers of this car. But the body roll/sway is a little too much for such big/heavy LUXURY car. BMW and MB do much muvh better job in this department for sure. The LS 430 tranny hesitates when applying gas and it becomes VERY profound and annoying when gas pedal is floored while merging into freeway.
I had a BMW M3 and like it alot. Driven 2006 BMW 325i/330i quite extensively and like the ride and handling very much. Test drive MB S430 and like its ride. Alas, I am the type of people that simply can't tolerate car breakdown in the middle of road. If not for the Nasty Quality/Reliability problems with both Mercedes and BMW, I'd definitely go with S and 7 series. So before they take care of their QC, I will stay with Lexus.
By the way, the Lexus is less snobby. Mercedes dealer near my place is just arrogant and look down upon me since I am young and don't appear rich....read morehide

- Good value, Excellent performance, Very smooth.
- None so far
I have '04 Lexus LS 430 Modern Luxury Package and do enjoy driving this car ever since I got it - No complaints so far - Very easy to drive, smooth, quiet. Most of all, I liked the price, it's a lot better deal than getting MBZ, BMW or other cars on similar level. I testdrove three times before I made a decision when I ordered. Overall, I'm very satisfied and happy that I made a right decision. It's a good valued luxury sedan....read morehide

- Quiet*, luxurious interior, 20 mpg, excellent brakes
- Fly-by-wire gas pedal has maddening delay when floored
*At 80+ mph (or less in a headwind) there is a humming noise coming from the dash area. Dealer has had it for two weeks. Latest guess is that its a manufacturing defect in the windshield seal.
Don't waste your money on the radar cruise. It won't follow at less than half a football field's length, which is useless on SoCal freeways.
Access to many controls is blocked by the gearshift and cup holder.
The satellite radio displays for song title and artist are truncated at 10 characters. I put 200K on a 98 Seville before this and was much more satisfied with it....read morehide
