- fit & finish, great performance & handling, great reliability, quiet, controlled ride
- No DVD audio, Nav system is inferior to Acura, styling is dated.
I have an '05 Acura TL, and an '06 LS430. While the TL is a remarkably good car, the RL is not that much better. I looked for more quiet, better handling, a little more rear seat room...
I drove the Acura RL, the Infiniti M35, M35 Sport, M35xAWD, M45.
They all were ever so slightly quieter than the TL, The RL & all M35's were slower than the TL, got worse gas mileage. The "M's" rode and handled a little better as did the RL, but not enough better to justify the price differential. Enter the LS430... This thing is amazing. It's suspension is a work of art. Handles far better than all of the above, rides far quieter than all of the above, gets better gas mileage than all of the above, save for the TL.
Is a bit more dinero than the RL, and "M's", but well worth the difference if the superiorities I've mentioned are important to you.
The Mark Levinson Sound system in the LS sounds better than the sound system in the TL, but the TL is no slouch. The TL does have DVD audio, while the LS doesn't even offer it as an option. What's up with that Lexus? The Nav and voice control system in the Acuras is quite a bit better than what Lexus has to offer in that arena as well. Bottom line, for me, we will keep the TL in the family because it is so darn good, but the LS will be my daily driver for it's superior handling, performance, comfort, room, and quietness.
