- Bought the car for a specific purpose (snow), vechicle works well
- Even with camera the back up visibility is worse than poor at night
Have complained to dealer and factory to no avail about the poor back up lighting. I need to back up a narrow drive way, at night. Have to clean the camera lens and even then I am unable to safely see to the rear and have absolutely no vision to the side. I get out frequently with a flashlite to verify it is safe to back up. Back up lights need to be mounted in the bumber to light up the rear and sides.
I have driven the car 25,000 carefree miles in one year and am satisfied with the performance but would like better gas mileage. Like others I have been using 87 octane fuel due the high cost of gas in California. Have driven the car in snow frequently and am very pleased with the handling....read morehide

- good looking, drive safely
- some noise from the back trunk
It is my first luxury car. I really like it and I bought it in a day. Once I have the car, there are several problems. There is a strange noise from the back trunk and no one can figure it out. After a year later, it is gone. The driver seat has been changed once since my wife and I have to switch more often. Battery was replaced once due to dealer fault. Overall it is good....read morehide

- Sexy Shape, Comfy, excellent GPS, It's like a SPACE SHUTTLE !
- Average Mileage, Striclty Supremium gas needed !
This is my dream vehicle which I got it a year ago. I can feel the fresh smell inside like a new SUV now also.It is comfortable to drive, feel secure in the road.I have a silver color with cream interior which I wanted. My colleagues and friends had a great drive with me and they all enjoyed it.Great vehicle for along drives. I liked this SUV juuuuuust because of its rounded back finishing and also I always wanted to sit well above the ground level. I was about to buy BMW X3/X5 and finally ditched that idea and thank god I ended up with this great car...I would really recomend this SUV for anybody....read morehide

- Unique body style
- 6-spd automatic could have been the ideal tranny, premuim gas to achieve max performance?
Nav system is cumbersome to use...e.g. temp (outside and inside) should be constantly on display.. back-up camera should still be complemented with sensors... could use integrated turn signals in its side mirrors.. xenon headlamps should be standard at its price range...fog lights could have been the projector-type as in the old RX300.. mudguards could have been thrown in as a standard feature.. could use a wider stance tire size for better stability and looks... could use fatter steering wheels for better and comfy hand grip. Other than these comments the vehicle is solid and proud to own one....read morehide

- very stylish head turner
- tranny hesitates as though it wants to slip esp. in turns
I drove one of these when my 2008 Lexus RX 350 was in for routine service...I like my hoopty better than the loaner. The driver's seat is impossible to adjust ( I am 6"2 " tall) and the mirror anti glare feature at night is annoying, among other minor things that grated my last good nerve. The car ( 13K miles on it ) had rattles I hope mine doesnt develop when it gets to the same mileage. The transmission also has an awful slip when turning corners and literally thunks , with a jerk, into gear......read morehide

- Great power for the mountains of Colorado;Great MPG over 2002 300RX;Very,very secure in ice and snow
- Body side protection from careless shoppers
STILL THRILLED AFTER 12,000 MILES. This car is amazing. We had a 2002 RX 300 previously and loved it, but this car has more power, quieter, and gets better gas mileage 20 MPG overall. We get 18 mpg in all city driving and as much as 26 MPG highway. On a recent round trip from Denver to Steamboat springs ( crossing the continental divide 6 times) we got 25.6 MPG. The winter of 2006/2007 in Denver was the worst in terms of snow in last 50 years. The 4 wheel drive, stability control, traction control and ABS makes this vehicle one of the safest and easiest to drive in horrible conditions. We watched other vehicles getting stuck and spinning out of control as we manuvered through the chaos. I think this vehicle is a better value than the RX 400h since it's MPG isn't much better and cost 10 grand more. I only wish that Lexus would put better side protection on their new models. I have owned Ford,Dodge, Chevy, Nissan,Honda,Toyota and I hope that the American car makers realize that more and more consumers are buying reliabilty and quality like Lexus....read morehide

- Exterior looks, lexus quality,
- Small interior/no third row, body sway, not enough power
My wife and I were looking for an SUV for sometime now and she really loved the RX350's good looks. I have to admit, the RX looks very nice. We get a lot of stares when we drive down the street. I wanted the X5 but that it was a lot more expensive and the quality with BMW is not the same with Lexus. We bought the RX fully loaded. The base price Lexus and BMW always advertise is so dramtically different than what you pay with all the options. Great way to get people into the door I guess. Anyhow, the RX is a beautiful SUV, very smooth, quiet, a great touring car for straight roads. The bad, it is a bit under powered compared to other SUVs, there is a bit of a lag while accelerating, and handling is very boat like around corners. Performance and handling is not too bad but you can't even compare it to a BMW or even an Acura MDX. The interior on our RX is a bit small and an optional third row is not offered for this car. My brother just baught the new Acura MDX and it totally blows our RX350 away. More power 300hp, more room, great super handling all wheel drive, bluetooth, nav, rear dvd, third row, power liftgate, and less expensive. Lexus and BMW watch out for the MDX! I never even thought about the MDX prior to buying our RX. I wish my wife and I would have checked the MDX out first before buying the RX. I am definitely having buyer's remorse now after driving around with my brother. Oh well, my wife loves the RX for its goodlooks. She is less on performance than I am. Maybe I can try and convince her to trade it in after a year....read morehide

- Very, very smooth ride, great handling, good gas milage, navigation system is awesome
- Voice recognition needs a lot of work, color selection is boring
I look forward to driving this car. I haven't felt that way since my first car 40 years ago. The ride is incredibly smooth. It is, in fact, the smoothest ride I have ever experienced in an automobile. The ride is so smooth that you often don't realize just how fast the car is going. Acceleration is quick and handling is nimble.
However, there is a dead spot in acceleration at mid-speeds which is noticable when you really have to gun it to merge into traffic. The car is so quick that that is not really much of a problem. But the next generation should be geared differently to avoid that problem.
The navigation system is super. I often have to go to towns that have a lot of construction and detours.
The navigation system simply recomputes the route in seconds and is unfailingly accurate. There is one problem with the navigaiton system. The dashboard map is always correct but the voice guidance willl occasionally tell you to turn right when you have to turn left or vice versa. Always check the display to make sure you are on course.
The two things that I found to be problems are the voice recognition system and the color selections. The voice recognition needs a lot of work. It often misrecognizes commands and you find yourself having to repeat the same commands over and over until the system gets it right. That can be very frustrating. Also, the color selection is limited and unexciting.
Overall, however, it is a great car and I can readily recommend it....read morehide
