Purchased As New
I have had this new car for one year now and I have been somewhat disappointed with high expectation of owning a "lexus". I had owned a 2001 and a 2005 Acura MDX previously and thought that I will buy a lexus this time because it had an excellent reputation in finish, mechanics, and low frequency of repairs. While it might be true for early year models, it is not for the 2010 and possibly 2011 models. I have a few complains: (1) The ride is average at best; acceleration and response are not up to my expectation. The steering wheel, when turning to the maximum, will "hit" a bump (needs a ruber damper at the max to minimize the feeling of hitting something). (2) The arm rest by the right side of driver's seat is poorly made. Its padding is thin and too soft even the leather is wrinkled when pressed. (3) The door handles and outside mirrors are not sealed well and they trap water. After a car wash, cleaned and dried, water will drip continueously leaving water marks below for the next 1/2 hour. Have mentioned to the dealers of these problems two times, but nothing could be done. I was told that it is normal for this car. If that is true, Lexus should be ashamed to claim that its brand cars pay attention to "details". This car is basically a good car but it is over-valued. Toyota has been overwhelmed by its success in past decades, and now it becomes sloppy.
