Dusty and Noisy

by SB from Seal Beach, CA. (5/20/08)
Pros:bluetooth, compfortable inside, exterior lighting
Cons:too much front brake dust, high pressure fuel system knocks like desiel

I bought the car because I owned a 98 GS. The hopes where I would have the same pleasurable experience. Overall I enjoy having a clean car, the brake dust after 5 miles is excessive and Lexus needs to consider this issue fast. The new engine package is very noisy. There is a knocking sound at idle that sounds like driving a desiel engine. Make sure to start the car, let it come to idle about two minutes without the air conditioning on. The techs told me they are already aware of it and it is the high pressure fuel system.

perfect blend of sportiness and luxury

by tim from westminster, ca (5/18/08)
Pros:excellent nav, smooth acceleration
Cons:minor issue w/ shift lock

Alright so I got my GS350 1 week ago. It now has 400 miles on it and it's such an unbelievable car!! This is my second Lexus (I currently have an 07 ES350 as well).

I was also considering MB's E350 or BMW's 5-series but ultimately went back to lexus. MB and BMW couldn't match the GS' luxurious interior. I don't care too much for performance so the GS is hands down the winner in sports performance luxury segment (offering a host of convenient features as well as smooth/quick acceleration when needed). simply a beautiful car to look at and gets a lot of admiration, espcially black on black.

i'm also in my early 20's so this car definitely has sex appeal for me.

2008 is a WINNER

by tex from Texas (5/13/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy for size, looks-wow, smooth.
Cons:None yet

This is my second GS, had a 2006. Wow, this engine is much more peppy and engine shifts smoother. Cannot beat Lexus quality and I can tell you gas economy is about 27--which is great for such a large engine and car. Rims and GPS antenna look great.

Saved my life, but I didn't get another one.

by Alan Rogers from Illinois (5/01/08)
Pros:Safety features ,handling and performance, comfortable, AWD, Nav
Cons:Poor lighting inside and out, trunk small, drop-down control panel is a pain

I had a 2007 GS350 AWD for exactly one year. In that time, I put 16000 miles on it and loved driving it if all I thought about was the ride and performance. It felt like a sports car.

The styling is a little boring, but from some angles very nice. The interior was lacking in the Lexus feel. The dashboard looked cheap.
Seating was very comfortable, even on long trips.

I was in a offset head-on crash when someone came over the center line into my lane, both of us going 60mph. My car was totalled, but I didn't have a scratch, the only person in the 4 car accident who wasn't hurt. Everything up to the windshield was destroyed, and everything from the windshield back looked completely untouched. The seat belt and bags saved my life without so much as a scratch to me. The engine was even still running after the accident--the fireman had to turn it off.

However, when I replaced the car, I didn't get another one. The things I didn't like were the terrible interior lighting, drop-down panel for controls, which required looking down to even adjust the mirrors, very short headlight beam field (I always felt like I was outdriving my field of vision), and cheap feel to the interior. All minor issues I admit, but they bothered me everytime I drove the car.

Not Impressed!

by T. Rivers from NY (4/13/08)
Pros:Interesting Design
Cons:Ride, Fuel economy, AWD system, transmission

I don't really like this car after having it for many months. The AWD system is horrible. I live in the northeast and the AWD system is very slow to react. tHE RIDE IS NOT SMOOTH ON ROUGH ROADS AND THE FUEL ECONOMY IS JUST HORRIBLE! I AM GETTING 15MPG.

Thsi car does not feel luxurious

Outstanding Craftsmanship

by Randy from Loveland, CO 80538 (4/12/08)
Pros:Great ride, handling and performance
Cons:No Cons

The 2008 GS350 offers the perfect balance or performance, luxury, and exquisite fit and finish. All the controls are exactly where you expect them to be and the interior finish is class leading. The service at the Lexus dealer in Fredrick CO is the fantastic. The performance and handling is spot on for daily driving or cross country road trips. The GS offers more features for thousands less than similarly equipped European competitors and the service is far superior.
