Purchased As New
I purchased a 2009 Grand Touring AWD.
Overall I like the CX-7. It?s reliable, powerful, stylish, perfect size, easy to handle. The only drawback is the fuel consumption. The 2009 version does not mandate premium gasoline. You can use regular if you want. They realized that with the 2008 gas prices fuel consumption was a major issue. The Sport and Touring versions are a little bit too firm in the seats and ride but the Grand Touring is much better. Grand Touring is more like a sedan, the suspension is very good, and you don?t hear the turbo lag like in the Sport and Touring version. I would suggest to everyone to monitor the tires wear. After 18k-19k miles your tires would be worn.
The cause might be from different factors:
-the original tires are made of soft components to make the CX-7 feel like a sedan;
-bad wheel alignment;
-or MAZDA engineers miscalculated the tire specifications for CX-7.
Replacing tires after 18k-19k miles should be unacceptable.
Also the interior materials including the floor could be of better quality. But the pricing is OK for what you get and I do not regret bying the CX-7.
