Purchased As New
I owned a 2001 mazda tribute, traded it in at 150K miles. Great vehicle. I do quite a bit back highway driving and have to jump on highways from a stop to 60-65mph all the time, passing people on two lane highways and needed something big enough to fit a few dogs in the back and pull a small trailer when I have to evacuate for hurricanes. The cx-7 was perfect. Feels like a car with the incredible responsiveness. Yes, it takes premium, but I get 23mpg consistently with my type of driving and if I didnt put the pedal down and get into serious boost I could do better(I swear I see that gauge move after doing so!). I have taken one highway trip and pure highway at 75mph I was getting 25mpg. I bought it in Nov of 08 and already have 16K miles on it. Its been wonderful, but the tires seem like they are wearing sorta fast(goodyears too!). The oil changes cant be done at the quick places because of the panel that has to be removed underneath, and it uses a cartridge style oil filter. Id only trust the dealer or myself to do it. So Im using extended life synthetic and doing it myself. Not too big of a deal. This vehicle is fun to drive, great ergonomics. Plan on replacing the stereo and speakers, the stock non bose was HORRIBLE. Great transmission, fun to manually shift occasionally. The stock headlight housing is a great place to put in some aftermarket HID headlights...excellent cutoff. I have no regrets buying it.
