2009 Mazda CX-7
There are 4 user reviews for the Touring FWD trim shown below
- appearance and possibly reliability
- rides rough like a sports car, value is expensive at 25k new, performance
Purchased As New
I bought this vehicle new in late 09. I now have 22k miles on it. I have had 1 issue with the driver seatbelt not buckling. took it in and fixed. No problem. Reliability does not seem to be an issue thus far.
Comfort is very rigid as a sports car. you will feel every bump. It does not ride like a "Cadillac". More like a Jeep Wrangler.
Not impressed with performance. Has turbo lag. (definitely need to get used to.) My thought that for such a good size vehicle it should be a V6. Instead, It's an inline 4 thats turbo-charged. That brings up the compression ratio and now you pay more at the gas pumps because you need 93 octane for the engine to be happy. There goes fuel economy. - This does, however, compare closely with other crossovers with the exception that the others seem to have more room inside
Fortunately, I bought this for the reliability, and appearance. If it were for economy, or performance I would be mighty upset....read morehide

- Great acceleration and handling.
- Speedometer gauge, 0 to 50 MPH range difficult to read during day with regular glasses
Purchased As New
During day when shaded under tree canopy speedometer gauge is nearly useless in city driving, 0 to 40 MPH range.

- Sport ride and handling, Little turbo lag
- Needs boost gadge, cheep tires 25K and gone
Purchased As Used
Runs well on regular gas. 85 octane in Colorado with no real impact. Only the 07 had to have premium gas.
Good online support group and many aftermarket stuff to detail out.

- nice looking, high performance, very enjoyable car
- drinks a lot of premium
You will enjoy when you comprehend what you have for more than nice price per HP. Very good philosophy of market positioning - sport+suv, forget nonsense about rough off road cars driving in strictly urban spaces. You need 4wd only for safety and some urban obstacles...
