2007 Mazda CX-9 User Reviews
Grand Touring AWD shown
- $11,639 - $13,357
- Fun to Drive, Great stereo, Upscale interior
- limited rear visibility
Didn't want to drive another minivan(we test drive 5 new one), Also did not want a truck based ride or fuel economy numbers. So My wife and I start looking at other 3rd row options that would tow our ski boat, Which left a few crossover options.
Wanting to stay under $40K we drove the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia, Both vehicles drove nice, I'd give the Acadia the edge overall.
4 weeks later we took a test drive in a Cx9 with my daughter. We drove a Sport, Touring and a Grand touring. Almost didn't have my wife look at this SUV because 2nd row didn't have Captains seat option, but after riding in all three rows, found out it didn't make a difference, All seats were very comfortable. After the 3rd test drive my daughter was talking about being sleepy instead of being carsick which is usually the case.
Considering the CX9's size and weight. It drove smooth and handled very well. The Bose stereo sounds better than any system I've had in a car or my home. To change anything on this vehicle you would have to give up something else, Gas mileage vs performance, rear visibility vs outside looks. I think Mazda has done great job blending together an outstanding overall package with the Cx9. After a Year and a half looking and test drives, 3 hours after the initial test drive of a Mazda CX9, I had one sitting in my Garage...read morehide

- good transmition, nice ride
- Very bad on Gas
I love my Mazda, drive smooth, I like the manual transmission. The passenger seat has only 4 way adjustments, should have 8. The gas consumption is the biggest problem of this car. The company advertises 18 miles per Gallon but actually 13 miles per gallon in the city, I did not tested out of city yet....read morehide

- Sporty looking, Real 7-Pass, Smooth transmission
- GAS GUZZLER! Blind spots, No audible sound when locking!
First SUV, and reviewed carefully before getting one. The car will sell itself but had a bad experience with the local dealer. I like the 263-hp and braking power capability (4-disk brakes).
Am not sure how the Rear climate control works, but no hot air is coming out of the vent even though you maxed-out the switch, the cold air is working though.
Generally, I liked the car. Worth the money....read morehide

- Room, Features, Drive, Looks - VALUE PRICE
- Dumb "left-out" features
Overall the CX-9 is a great value. We looked at the Volvo XC90, the Acura MDX, Saab(GM), Saturn, Ford and Nissan. We went from a Honda Pilot to this car and so are are happy with our decision because we got the features and "drive" of the Acura with the price equal to a Honda. The CX-9 has pleanty of room, drives well and has pleanty of cool features - the Bluetooth works better then in my BMW!...however the only complaint I have is that they didn't "finish" when it comes to some of the options. For example - the Radio - no RDS? - not a big deal? but - when you play a CD with MP3s on it it reads and displays the ID tag why not display the radio staion/song info like every other new car? Also, heated seats - nice option - but only one heat setting??? AND...What ever you do DON'T get the upgraded keyless entry. This is a poor man's version of the Toyota/BMW/Audi etc. push button start. It is cumbersome and you will find yourself constantly looking for a place to put the credit card shaped key. Even with the complaints above (hopefully Mazda will take note) we are happy with the car....read morehide

- Best looking SUV, great performance, quiet and smooth ride. 7 pass seating. Good ride at all seat po
- Could use a retractable running board.
I believe that the Mazda CX-9 is the best looking SUV on the road today. During the one month I have had the car, five people, men and women, have stopped me to get a closer look at the car or to ask how I liked it. Obviously, I do like it very much. The ride is superb at all seating positions, and road noise and engine noise is minimal - very quiet. Engine and transmission combination makes for good performance. I like the long sleek look. Best red color of all cars - copper red mica. I like the keyless entry and start. And 20 inch wheels - WOW...read morehide

- Styling, comfort.
- fuel econony not all that.
My wife and I love this car ,,,, except if you get it with "sirius satellite" your IPOD will not work. There is only 1 input on the back of the radio. So I was infromed to get the IPOD to work I would now have to purchase a "switching box" and ~2hrs of labor to install which would come out to about $300. For spending about 35k on this vehicle and the salesman telling me that I would have no problem having both work, oh and they told me this after I had already signed the papers! BAD business from "University Mazda" in Albuquerque N.M....read morehide

- Style, Roominess, Great Power, Smooth shifting, Drives like a car
- Potholes can be frightning, MPG
A wonderful solution for families looking for seating for 7 but don't want to go the van route. Vehicle corners well and the 3.5 liter engine has plenty of pep. We were going to buy a Honda Pilot, but after a test drive in the CX-9, it was a no brainer. A lot of car for the money.

- Great looks, Feels Great, seats seven
- Gas Guzzler
I bought the GT AWD White with the Luxury Package, that includes the 10 speaker Bose system and keyless start system. And all i can say that im very impress with the overall quality that Mazda did to build this car. Especially when im driving around the city with the Pearl White colour it is very eye catching, over people in other cars are stearing........read morehide

- great design, solid steering, beautiful interior
- ride minimally harsh at times
I have had this car for 1 month. I traded in a Mercedes ML500, and it is the best thing ever did. Even though the CX-9 is large, it is nimble on the road. The ride quality is excellent, though a bit harsh over highway joints. The fit and finish are excellent as well. The transmission is exceptionally smooth, and one can hardly tell when the gears are changing. The engine is smooth and powerful. The navigation is easy to use, as is the Bluetooth function. I have the Bose system, and it sounds great. Perhaps the most astonishing feature is that it fits 7 people comfortably. I am genuinely impressed with this car....read morehide
