- Extremely comfortable seating, very smooth ride, 3rd row is decently sized
- backup camera when raining (rain drips on camera), could use a little more storage for the driver.
Purchased As New
First of all, let me say that I have been vehicle shopping since August (it's December now)- so I'm not an impulse buyer by no means. Expecting a 3rd child my wife and I have been looking at 3rd row suv's. I had narrowed my choices down to the 2013 Honda Pilot or the new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. A good friend of mine is the sales manager for the local Hyundai/Mazda dealership and called me to let me know that they had the 2012 CX-9's on clearance to at least give it a try before we purchase. When we arrived, he had it pulled out and ready for us to drive. I, having lower back issues, immediately fell in love with the seats, the way the vehicle sets (driving height), and the appearance/functionality of the interior design. Our 2 kids jumped into the 3rd row no problem. Off we went. The drive was fantastic- just a HAIR more firm than an Acadia(we owned an 08 Acadia and traded due to transmission/roof leaks). But still very, very smooth. Absolutely no issues hanging sharp curves. I have to say that I am now a Mazda believer. I never would have thought that. Mpg is 19-20 mixed city and highway. The 3.7 v6 is plenty for the vehicle. You can't even feel it shift hardly. The only area we've yet to experience is the durability of the CX-9. However if it holds up, we just got a steal. We highly recommend :).
