I really love my Mazda3 hatchback. It is the cutest car ever and so much fun to drive. Handling is great. I have a 5-speed and I love driving this car. So far I have had no problems, but I've only driven it 10,000 miles in the year and a half I've owned the car. I keep seeing people complaining about how it drives in the rain and I think they must just be bad drivers because I don't have any problems in light/normal rainfall. Flash flooding weather is scary, but that would be scary no matter what you drove. I guess I do have to admit that it isn't the greatest in the snow...but I still have the standard tires the car came with. I think with snow tires it would not be a big deal. Gas mileage is fine...yeah it's not as good as a wimpy little car's gas mileage would be, but sooooo much more fun to drive. I am 5'6" and have no comfort issues with the car. Seats, headroom, legroom are all fine. The hatchback is great if you plan on buying furniture from IKEA anytime soon. Plus I think the hatchback is so much cuter than the regular sedan. The first time I testdrove it, I was amazed how quickly it got up to 70 mph on the highway. Sound system sounds great to me (but my last car was an 11-year-old Dodge Neon and pretty much everything would sound wonderful compared to that.) Windows don't seem to fit in the frames very well cuz one window sticks when I try to roll it up/down and wind noise is a bit annoying.
