- Ok on gas, realtively cheap car
- USELESS in winter driving. Flimsy car. Tons of road noise
Had this car for a few months and traded it in for a Ford Escape after the first couple of snow storms. This car is dangerous when there is an inch of snow on the ground. Handles poorly in any wet condition really. Car is so flimsy you hear every little pebble that kicks up from the road. Very annoying.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this car....read morehide

- you got the accessories that you also find in luxury cars, fast for its size,
- ride not so comfortable, a little noisy inside, speakers not so good, front seats are small.
Overall, i like the car, aurora blue in color looks pretty, but eats a lot of gas for its size...You have to be a little careful when you back up cause you don't get a good rear view....the front seats are not so comfy because of it's small size....

- Appearance, very high quality, excellent interior, high level of equipment.
- No remote trunk release on keyfob, brake and gas too close together.
I've had this car 3 weeks and I love it. I purchased the 2008 4dr Grand Touring. It has almost every accessory you can imagine, including stability control and advanced brakes. It was delivered in perfect condition. I've received a lot of compliments on it so far, and I'm glad I bought it.
The interior is roomy and more comfortable than my old Dodge Stratus Coupe, which was a midsize. The Bose sound system with Sirius is excellent, but a bit confusing to use at first.
I was very impressed with all the equipment which comes standard on this trim level, making it a "mini luxury car" from that standpoint. Interesting features include a digital readout of the gear that the automatic transmission has currently selected as you drive, a trip computer with MPG, adjustable xenon headlights and LED taillights, power driver seat with power recliner, locking fuel door, tilt/telescope steering wheel, huge glovebox. I would strongly recommend this car to anyone looking for a vehicle of this size.
The only drawbacks I've noticed so far are pretty minor. There's no remote trunk release on the keyfob. The brake and gas pedals are too close together and I have to be careful when wearing boots. The speedometer markings are packed too tightly for easy reading. The bottom seat cushion doesn't extend far enough under my knees for best comfort.
Overall, the Mazda3 was -- by far -- the best car I looked at, and I had been going to car shows and researching on the Internet for about a year! My 2nd choice was a Civic, but you can't get stability control on it until '09. I used the Ford Partner Program to buy the Mazda, saving me another $1,500 - ask if your employer has it, it's very "worth it" if you are considering any of their cars. (Yes, Ford owns Mazda)....read morehide

- Godd looks, sporty feel, nice power
- Bose stereo problem
I've had my 08.5 for 3 months now. The leather heated seats are nice, the power and steering feel are real nice too. I bought the top of the line car with the Bose stereo which has a problem between volume level 34-35. 35 sounds great if a little loud, 34 sounds like it has a muffler on it. When I took it to the dealer the Technician said I shouldn't have it so loud and shouldn't complain since I bought it at another dealership.
All in all a nice car. I've owned several Dodge's recently and NEVER had a single problem so this radio problem is disappointing but hopefully Mazda will fix it....read morehide

I've had my 3 GT for almost four weeks and I love it. It definitely has a lot of bang for the buck. I love the leather seats, HID headlights, LED taillights, Auto climate control, Bose sound system and sunroof. All that for less than $23K. The car is fun to drive, especially with the 5 speed manual, and it has good pick up and braking. I just have a few minor complaints. I feel that they got all the major equipment in there they just missed some little stuff. A trunk button on the key fob, heated mirrors, and homelink would have been nice. I also expected way better gas mileage than I am currently getting. I am guessing that it is low b/c it is a new engine. I'm hoping after the break in period it will improve. Also, I am having a hard time finding a driving position I like. The seats are comfortable I just can't find that "sweet spot" yet.
Overall though I really like my 3 and would recommend it to anybody looking for a fun sporty car that also likes lots of ammenities!...read morehide

- Great gas mileage, good handling, fun driving, well built,
- I wish the trunk were a little larger!
This car the best car i've owned, I use to be a VW ( jetta, passat) driver but there quality declined! I took this for a test drive and I knew that this was for me, I only wish i had opted for a sunroof and maybe a Mazdaspeed3 (for the 6 speed manual trans)!!!!!!!!!! Awesome quality!!!

- Pressed trunk to close with arm and made a small dent on trunk
Everything is nice and convenient. MP3 jack, good stereo, safety air bags and side curtains. Great MPG, Performance and looks. Love it.

- Bose Sound, Leather Heated Seats, Lots of Pep, Great Handling, Style, Fun!
- GAs and Break Pedal a little close together - I notice it a lot on my way to work with "dress shoes"
I LOVE THIS CAR! I recommend it to anyone! I went all out and few a few dollars more per month I got the Grand Touring model and I am so glad I did. The extras that come with this model are great. I love the Bose sounds system and leather heated seats. Power moonroof is great too! The handling is fantastic and don't let the 156 HP engine fool you. This car has plenty of pep. I got the all-weather floor mats which really help here in the Northeast with rain and wet weather to keep the carpeting clean. The style is also fantastic. EVERYONE who has seen my car comments on the style and "nice ride." The ride itself is smooth and comfortable. I am not sure about all the complaining I read about "road noise." I haven't noticed anything bothersome about that at all. This is a great car and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a new, spoty, stylish sedan. I am 36 years old, and it fits my lifestyle perfectly. Even the ladies are impressed when they get in!...read morehide

- Good performance, absolutely outstanding handling, looks great
- Twitchy - Be careful with that gas pedal, ride is a bit crunchy, not exactly a gas sipper in general
Great all around vehicle. The build quality of the interior is outstanding and puts Toyota Corollas to shame, while the exterior looks sporty and sleek as opposed to the newer Honda Civics which just look strange and alien (personal opinion). Great feature set for a non-luxury brand compact. The leather seats are comfortable, and the Bose sound system is loud and throaty without being overwhelming. The xenon HID headlamps and fog lamps make the road extremely easy to see. Great handling, taking corners quick are no problem with the stock Goodyear Eagle RSAs - I can only imagine what this car can do with more premium tires.
The not so good: The sport suspension and low profile tires do make for a rather crunchy ride. You'll feel all the bumps a bad road has to offer. Being a smaller car inherently also make it prone to road noise, although the Bose sound can easily overwhelm it. A small tap on the gas pedal can cause the car to catapult itself, so be careful about missing the brakes. The dynamic stability control system can also lead to some unexpected acceleration characteristics (but it can be disabled with a button push). Fuel efficiency is not nearly as good as something like a Corolla, although you do get more horsepower and toque for it....read morehide

- Pretty good fuel economy, lots of room inside, standard transmission feels accurate.
- Nothing yet
Alright, I just picked up my 3 a little while ago, but from what I've witnessed so far, I love the thing. I have no real problems with it. Trunk space is pretty impressive for such a small car too. Ok, for those of you who are complaining that the key haub doesn't have a trunk release button, you are really lazy. How hard is it to unlock the trunk with your key itself or pulling the latch inside. For performance wise? This car is amazing for just a 4 cylinder engine. The 2.3L really picks up well. I really haven't heard any engine noise or anything like that. Except for the road noise coming from the tires, but that can be fixed with better tires. But other than those things, the car is amazing. Compairing this car to the Toyota Corolla and Matrix, the 3 has them beat. It handles better and it has a more powerful engine. Do yourself a favor and at least test drive a 3 as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed....read morehide
