2007 Mazda MAZDA5

- fuel consumption fair. it depends how u accelerete.
- ride is rough because it is using performance tire or low profile tire.
I just bought mazda 5 2007. the dealar was so deceiving about the price. the window price was lower but if u buy the car they give u another higher window price. and they say this is the original price. and they have a lot of charges and they don't beat the price of yahoo price. unlike honda they beat the yahoo price and few of charges. but i still bought the masda5 2007. because it fits my needs and the size. when i drove home i experience like other people comment that the rear suspension got noise or squeecking. i brought back on the next day for service. they found out that the bushing was lose. after that the sound was gone but sometimes i heard again when i pass the bumpy road. The car is good in handling espescially in sharp curv, and it's good in acceleration. for me it is a good car but i'm not satisfied with the price. it cost my 2007 model more than a price of 2008 model. I felt corrupted with that dealer. Now i'm driving the car with bad feelings....read morehide

- Great on gas, almost everything about this car I love!!!
- No passenger armrest... kind of odd there isnt one, our only dislike.
My husband and I purchased our Mazda 5 approximately 6 months ago with 150 miles. We now have almost 3,000 miles. This car is fun to drive, handles well, enough room for our family, the two of us and one toddler. There will be enough room for another baby. Stroller fits well in the back, and the back seats fold down for groceries, etc. I like how the stereo automatically turns down when you slow down, it auto adjusts to the cabin noise. This vehicle is functionable, and looks great! We will be traveling alot this summer - going on a few roadtrips and we will be enjoying every minute in our mazda 5! This is the best car we have ever owned, and hope to own this for a long time. I would recommend this vehicle to our friends and family. VERY happy with it!...read morehide

- LOOKS GREAT, IF YOU LIKE MODERN SLEEK LINES, EVEN FOR MOM (ME)
- HAVING KIDS, NO TRUNK SPACE, BUT FOLD DOWN ONE OF THE 3RD ROW SEAT TO MAKE ROOM, WORKS OUT FINE
I TOOK THIS CAR TO CALIFORNIA FROM OMAHA, NE WITH MY HUSBAND AND 3 KIDS, ADDED A ROOF RACK AND A CARGO OVERHEAD AND WE DID GREAT! JUST TOOK OFF THE CARGO WHILE IN CALIFORNIA AND TOOK IT EVERYWHERE, FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE BEACH! GREAT ON GAS!

- 6 seats; great gas mileage; very roomy, plenty of passenger and storage room
- air takes a while to reach back row, back row seat belt clips break easily
I am very pleased with my car. I have four children and now I can bring someone else with me when we go anywhere. I was shocked by the value I got on this vehicle. For the size (the 6 seats) and many of the other features, you cant beat this vehicle. I mention the 6 seats because that is what sold me, but there are many other qualities in this vehicle that make it an excellent choice....read morehide

- Zippy, driver seat and middle seats comfortable, nice design and cargo
- Passenger seat has no leg room whatsoever, rear seats very uncomfortable.
I'm torn. I was very excited to purchase this after testdriving the CR-V, Pilot, Murano, Rav-4, etc. However, we are probably going to take a loss and trade it in for a Murano. The front wheels "clunk" when turning, the front passenger seat has no leg room (my husband is only 5'8" and it's very tight) and no arm rest. One major downfall for us that may not affect other consumers is that the service department is not open on Saturdays and that's a big pain. I can't put my finger on what's bugging me the most but I just don't love this car like I did my CR-V of 6 years. Cons: Great fuel economy, fun to drive, side doors slide easily, love the style. The back 4 seats fold down completely flat which is really cool....read morehide

- Fuel economy, 7 seats
- Jerky clutch, gears and brakes, cheap speakers, uncomfortable
First I am writing in the UK so I had a uk model called the Mazda 5 Sport which may be a bit different to models in the States or Canada
I was planning on buying a Mazda 5 to replace my wifes Protege5(somtimes called a 323GLF) which we bought new in July 2000 and we love the Protege5 but its a bit small for us. I was travelling for work and when I was renting a car with Avis I saw they had a row of Mazda 5's and I rented one with 8km on it so it was brand new. I really wanted to like this car but didn't. I did 600km in 3 days and what I didn't like was
i. I couldn't get a comfortable driving position even though I moved the seat back/forward , up/down and then the steering column moves out/in/up down. Plus the seats are not real comfortable.
ii. I could not change gears smoothly, maybe because the car was new and the cluth was not worn but I couldn't change gears without a bit of a jolt and I pride myself and driving smoothly. I used to take off in second to have a smooth takeoff. also the gearbox is a bit notchy - unusual for a mazda.
iii. brakes - I couldn't brake smoothly, if I just touched the brakes lightly it was like hitting the brakes. I don't know if there is took much power-assist in the brakes or the brake pads were new so had good grip but I could not brake smoothly.
iv. the speakers were very bad - I noticed it as soon as I put on the radio - they probably put cheap speaker in to save money but it was a bad idea.
v. the suspension is very firm and so is the streering.
Good points - it feels really well put together, that real solid feel you get from a BMW or Mercedes. Fuel econony was great 34 mpg(uk gallons which are 4.5l to a gallon)
I like the look, the storage space, and the look of the interiro....read morehide

- Decent fuel economy, 3rd row seating, interior fabric is nice, overall roominess
- Not enough leg room for me and can feel every bump in the road.
I love the car, but my biggest issue is leg room. My knee is about 5 inches away from the dashboard (steering wheel) area. I'm only 5'7"!
The gas paddle is sort of high, so I usually where heels so I don't cramp up as much. The driver and front passenger should have lots of leg room. Rear passengers are only in my car for a minimal amount of time. When I purchase it, I thought the leg room was ok- I was excited to find a car like this for the value, so I settled.
The tires are a bit to small for the vehicle, I think. The next size up would be more attractive. Not sure why there is no arm rest in the front seat and what's up with no air condition vents in the back. I have to turn the air up to level 4 and freeze until the 3rd seated people feel cool. That's a flop.
But, I still find the car has many features for such a great value....read morehide

- MPG,style,audio/cruise on steering,roomy,seat config,dash layout,made in japan,entry/exit ease
- missing armrest for front passenger, need rear vent ducting,
Best value for the buck. Considered other makes and this one has more for less. Steering radius is tight and great for getting in and out of traffic/parking. Although a bit revvy when merging/overtaking, the engine is peppy and willing to pull. Bought the dealer supplied roof rack and Sears X-Cargo top carrier (modified the hole locations) and the gang is ready for the long haul. Plan on installing tint on the rear side windows to aid in cooling. Compliments coming left and right. Overall, this is one great value....read morehide
