- Good fuel economy, intelligent engineering, euro styling, value priced and unique
- poor oem tires, no stability control, no standard tint
I bought a 2006 certified used and have been very pleased with the wagon so far. Handling is precise, firm(a tad more would be welcome), and communicative without being jarring over rough roads. Had to settle with an auto--couldn't convince my wife who's the principal driver.
I can actually drive this-whatever u call it-wagon like a sportscar when the mood strikes me. Or drive it liezurely, just coasting along and enjoying its surprisingly good audio system. Overall, I think this is one unique, intelligent, and sporty vehicle. Although mazda not marketing it makes me wonder if it'll stay with the lineup
In fact, it's one of the few vehicles I'd consider buying again if they can make some changes without upping the sticker. Few suggestions for Mazda: 1. make it 5 speed auto with paddle shifters--3rd to OD's a big gap when it needs to downshift ascending a hill. 2. make the 7 seater, turbo diesel with standard euro roofrails with red taillights standard in the US--could care less for the side skirts and roof spoiler. 3. less funky color options (had to look around for a carbon grey).
