- Sporty, best minivan gas mileage, nice finish, fun auto/manual transmission, adjustable interior.
- Limited storage when six people in, making long trips more difficult. No third row air/heat.
Purchased As New
For a family of six, we have enjoyed the last 2.5 years owning this car.
It is sporty, has some zoom-zoom power to it even with the 4-cylinder engine. The finish is very nice, we have the Grand Toruing with leather and the moonroof and nice sound system.
I have taken this vehicle on business trips frequently and the 29 MPG I get with highway use is a big gas-saver over the 20 MPG of my other van. Even with more city use, I get 26-27 MPG regularly.
The interior seats fold easily, allowing for a good amount of space to move things or pick up large amounts of groceries.
That being said, if there are six people in the car, and I put my 10 and 8 year olds in the back, the storage space becomes small and the leg room isn't great for full-sized humans. I have had six adults in the vehicle and gone to dinner six miles from our hotel and back and no one was overly squished.
When loaded with people, best for in-town driving. Navigates traffic well. The transmission is automatic, but like the Mazda3 it can be set to manual control if you want to get your engine rev on.
No complaints about placement of any interior controls. The lights and windshield wipers can be set to automatic so if it becomes dark or your windshield gets wet, lights go on and your windshield wipers start and respond to whatever level water you need to deal with, from slow for light rain to fast for a downpour.
The climate control can be set to automatic also, though there is no third row air/heat and the rear facing vent is for AC only, not heat. Live in a hot climate, so not much of a problem for us, though the kids would like AC in the back. Smaller interior does cool down faster. Grand Touring also has seat warmers, which are a nice thing on cold mornings.
The leather has held up well and is easy to clean.
Six-changer CD player also easy to use, with volume controls on the steering wheel, along with phone controls for the blue-tooth enabled hands-free phone system.
It was a great buy 2.5 years ago, and in six months we'll own it and likely own it until it doesn't run anymore!
