- Cost, mpg, interior space, sliding doors
- Noisy at high speed, leather seat comfort
Purchased As New
As a microvan, Mazda5 is cheaper than other "normal" minivans. It's bigger than a typical car or station wagon, but drives like one. With close to 3K miles over 2+ months, my Mazda5 GT has about 24-25 mpg with 70/30 highway/city driving. Radio/CD needs to be played to normalize the noises at high speed. Leather seats could use more cushion/padding for longer traveling. Haven't used 3rd row seats yet, but like the space without them. Engine does seem underpowered from time to time, but I'm not a racer. Overall, it's a charm so far. Only hope its reliability makes liars out of some reviewers.
