After 5,000 miles on this vehicle:
What a true minivan should be, at a price that beats all other vans. So far I am pretty much pleased with this Mazda 5. The ride is pretty comfortable and handling is good. Road noise level is a little high and could benefit from some additional factory-installed sound insulation.
I've been averaging between 23 - 25 mpg overall. That's not too bad but I am disappointed that highway mileage has not been better than 25 mpg. I expected at least 30 mpg highway. I'd love to see a hybrid version offered!
With the third row seats up, carrying six people, there is virtually no luggage/cargo space left. In this situation a roof top rack/carrier is a necessity - something that I think should come standard on this car.
