- Extremely Versatile, Good fuel economy, Does everything well
- Hard to find in 5-door touring, automatic tranny shifts early (alot), accesories
I bought a 2007 Mazda 6 5door Touring I4 for my wife since we werent quite ready for a wagon and we needed something to carry my 5 year olds stuff and my dogs. She travels about 50 miles a day commuting so fuel economy was also on the list. The 5-door does all of the above well. Its comfortable, though the ride is a little stiff it handles well at high speeds. The build quality seems high and the set up of controls is not too confusing. The hatch is extremely convenient. I can put both of my full grown huskies back there and they have almost as much room they would in a small SUV.
As far as the bad, well we had to ship ours from Idaho to Colorado to get the options and color we wanted but the dealer was very nice about it and didnt charge me extra. The tranny is set for grandma shifting as it shifts so early it feels very slow unless you slam the accelerater or shift it yourself in manual mode, which works pretty well although down is up and up is down? The vehicle had a remote starter installed and we put in satellite radio as factory accesories. The remote start caused us some issues about 4 months after getting it and the sattelite radio is slower to find a signal then other cars I had.
Overall the vehicle is everything I wanted it to be, its the first vehicle Ive had with Xenon headlights, and I love that for the money.
