- Never lacking power, incredibly stable at high speeds, great interior looks
- Road noise a little loud, a few squeaks
Purchased As Used
Bought this car at 10,000 miles used. 2,000 miles in and I'm very thrilled so far. Extremely fast, yet polite when needed. This car has plenty of room for four and oddly has 8 cup holders for those four.. (2 in center 1 on each door Front and Rear).
The Xenons on the GT trim are fantastic, the manual aiming switch is nice. The rear LEDs not only look great, but are extremely bright as well.
Bose Sound system is decent. Much better than stock.
Gas mileage has been pretty decent so far for driving it very hard. About 21-22MPG overall.
This car has a reputation, get used to kids trying to race you everywhere you go. This can be a plus if you're the type that gets thrills from that.
When you do want to go fast, this car will delight you. The confidence the car instantly gives you will help you destroy the twisties. You can get in to a lot of trouble in this car, keep checking the speedo because the stability the car provides belies the actual speed!
You can't find a car even close to this price that will dominate corners like this one does.
Now for a few bad points:
When launching the car from stop the wheel tends to bounce as well as spin. This can be helped by replacing the rear motor mount, but as stock it can be annoying.
Road noise can be overwhelming at times, especially when driving over gravel.
The rain sensing windshield wipers are sometimes too slow to react to a downpour and sometimes way too hyper for a light drizzle. Convenient when its actually working, but mostly a nuisance.
Small squeak under the driver seat. Not too terrible but definitely noticeable. Apparently this is a common issue in the Mazdaspeed3.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the car. Test drive one and see for yourself!
