- Turns on a dime, stops on a dime, torquey all the time.
- Sometimes it rains.
I absolutely love this car! This is a second car for me, and I only drive it when the weather is nice. After 4,000 miles, it still puts a grin on my face every time I drive it. The steering is very communicative and responsive, and the sport suspension telegraphs every blip in the road, but with no harshness. The wide torque band and short gearing keep the accelerator responsive in every gear. This is definitely not a car for cruising and talking on the phone. It's a drivers car that keeps you engaged and entertained all the time. This car always wants to play! It makes me want to race it every time I get behind the wheel. Anyone who orders this car with an Automatic transmission simply doesn't get it.
I got the car fully loaded with the Bose audio, smart key, 6 spd manual, Bose stereo, Sirius, black leather, 17" wheels and sport suspension in Galaxy Gray. I love the smart key and the heated seats and tri-directional vents keep me cozy down to about 35 degrees with the top down =). The Bose audio is nice, but doesn't compare to the thumping Shaker 1000W stereo that was in the Mustang I traded in. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get both Sirius and the iPod module, but honestly I don't need to be fiddling around with the iPod in the car anyway. I would have liked the Sirius antenna to be better integrated though.
I've never owned a convertible before, and the power retractable hardtop is what hooked me. With no compromise in trunk space, not a lot of added weight, and the added security, I was sold. I'm a Miata owner for life....read morehide

- Tight steering, PRHT, 30mpg, stylish classy car
- console cup holder useless, passenger side leg room limited.
Purchased car in Dec 06, already have 10,500 miles. I love driving this car. I researched all the convertibles in this class range. This one was the best for the price. I waited for the retractable hard top, wouldn't have bought it without it. Found one and drove it off the dealer floor. I've always wanted a convertible so the top is down most of the time, but I love the classic look of the car with the top up. The sleek design gives the car the appearance of one complete body with no break lines when the top is up. One thing I did have to come to grips with is this car is not for winter, so I''ll drive it non stop until the first snow fall....read morehide

- sensual looks, handling, economy, an extention of self
- Only 1: road noise above 50 mph obscures otherwise great Bose stereo sound
Got a copper red mica MX5 GT PRHT on May 24, 2007 I am in love with the car, even more than I thought I would. (I've already waxed it 4 times.)
Great to look at & a sensual experience while cleaning and polishing...the curves being so full and smooth.
This sensual experience gets even better when sitting in the cockpit. The ergonmics of the steering wheel, pedals and controls are superb while the design is handsome and the execution excellent.
Then it gets even better. The power top works beautifully and amazes nearby drivers at stop lights. Further, the driving dynamics of the MX5 are nothing short of amazing. A great athletic balance with plenty of power, glue like grip on corners and sure footed braking. It just does what you want it to do immediately and without fuss or hesitation.
Read many glowing automotive reports on the new MX5 & knew it had to be very good but I wasn't prepared for the exhalerating driving experience.
Also great economy. Got 32.4 mpg in spirited mixed driving in my 1st 400+ miles!
Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it....read morehide

- GOOD FUEL ECONOMY, RHT, HANDLING
- NO SPARE TIRE, MIDDLE CUP HOLDER USELESS
NO QUESTION THIS IS THE TOP CAR IN ITS CLASS. GREAT VISUAL
LOOK BUT HEADLIGHTS NEED A SHARPER LOOK TO BE MORE MASCULINE. PRETTY PEPPY AND FUN TO DRIVE. WOULD NOT TRADE
IT FOR A BMW, HONDA 2000 OR THAT PIECE OF JUNK PONTIAC

- THE UNIQUE EXHILARATING FEELING OF DRIVING A TRUE ROADSTER! THE POWER HARD TOP IS NICE TOO!
- WIERD BUZZING SOUND FOR FIRST 5 SECOND WENT STARTING OFF IN DRIVE.
I have owned many prior sports cars from a Porsche Boxster to a Pontiac Soltice that either handled or performed but not both, non were as impressive as this vehicle. It is a perfect balance of power and handling and craftsmanship along with a fun factor that cannot be described the only thing I can say is drive one. That is what sold me. The dealer here let me test drive this one over a weekend enough said because now I own it....read morehide

- Getting 27 mpg, lots of zip, fantastic cornering!
- Highland green color shows lots of dust & pollen. Must cover when not using.
Sold my 1995 white MIATA ragtop back in November 2006 and bought the 2007 Grand Touring PRHT. Put it away for the winter and now I have it out! What a difference 11 years makes! Car and driver are one as Mazda intended, and drving this car is pure fun. Bose stereo sound system is fantastic. Never thought I'd like the sattelite radio but it's selection is phenominal. Love my PRHT!...read morehide

- The car's appearance is amazing; it has understated elegance with superb fit and finish.
- needs more lumbar support in drivers seat, plastic interior may scratch
I picked this car up two weeks ago. I had a Mini Cooper S for 4 years but was turned off by the BMW culture that did not want to "cheapen" the brand by discounting their car so I bought something much better. My deal with trade was $2200 better than the Mini dealers in the Philadelphia area for a better car.
First gear is a little vague and it tends to rev a little high in 6th gear rather than put you in over drive. Handling is on par with the Cooper S but the PRHT is so well done; its a work of art and on parrallel with the Volvo hardtop convertible as the company that designed the Volvo top is the same. The other thing I was impressed with was the Mazda Project Manager of the original Miata is still on the job 18 years later.
I have wanted a convertible for a number of years. My test is does the car look as good with top up as the top down? The Mini Convertible looks terrible with the top up. The BMW 3 series hard top which weighs almost 400 pounds still looks like an after thought. The VW Eos needs to go on a diet. This car's proportions are just right....read morehide

- We get 30mg on the highway.
- have not found any yet!!
We waited over 4 months to get this car, and worth the wait.We recently drove 300 miles North and it was a pretty comfortable ride. It's a show stopper.
