2007 Mazda MX-5 MIATA User Reviews
- $10,155 - $11,878
- Great handling, fuel consumption, and trunk space.
- No spare tire, water leakage from top drain system.
Purchased As New
Owned as new since 2008. 76k miles on it now.
Appearance-very nice looking, like the looks of Solstice better
Practicality-awesome trunk space for such a small car and great gas milage (husband calls this car the Miata Truck!)
Comfort-Great for a couple of hours, could use a little more cushion in the seats for longer driving time
Performance-awesome acceleration, breaking, and handling bumps in the road, however, with the 6speed manual, the downshifting is difficult when cold
Value-great little sports car for the money
Reliability-This is a very reliable car, however, the drainage system for convertible top needs improvement; need spare tire (many water leaks in the trunk and/or cabin of car and was stranded for hours due to a flat tire that could not be repaired by the kit supplied)
Overall-this has been a great investment, and I would buy another one in a heart beat! I drive this car with the top down as often as I can, even in 19 degree temperatures, I am still comfortable with the windows up, top down. LOVE IT!!!...read morehide

- Great on gas, love the power hard top
- A little too noisy to use cell phone, but then again, I shouldn't be talking on the phone while driv
This is my second MX-5. My first, a Y2K special edition, was totaled by getting rear ended by an 18 wheeler. Into the back of another 18 wheeler. I was the meat in an 18 wheeler sandwich.
BTW, to the guy who said they have no resale value, I got $10,000 for my 7 year old MX-5 with over 140,000 miles on it. I don't think that's too shabby.
The 2007's are a little more generous on space, although it isn't so great for tall people or people with long legs. It does okay with fat people. (I'm a fat people)
I love these cars and can't see myself without one....read morehide

- Cute 2 seater, easy to park roadster
- Shifting problems, Doors sound like tin when shutting, too noisy with top down to hear radio,
I think it is way high priced just for the looks. Performance wise it should sell much cheaper like 12k to 14k.. 24K is way too much.
After one year of driving the shift linkage is slopply and clutch (chatters).
A car such as this, one wants to take to Florida etc, but the seats felt uncomfortable after a 2 hr seating time itself.
It is much worse then a Solstice or Sky or other similar cars....read morehide

- Turns on a dime, stops on a dime, torquey all the time.
- Sometimes it rains.
I absolutely love this car! This is a second car for me, and I only drive it when the weather is nice. After 4,000 miles, it still puts a grin on my face every time I drive it. The steering is very communicative and responsive, and the sport suspension telegraphs every blip in the road, but with no harshness. The wide torque band and short gearing keep the accelerator responsive in every gear. This is definitely not a car for cruising and talking on the phone. It's a drivers car that keeps you engaged and entertained all the time. This car always wants to play! It makes me want to race it every time I get behind the wheel. Anyone who orders this car with an Automatic transmission simply doesn't get it.
I got the car fully loaded with the Bose audio, smart key, 6 spd manual, Bose stereo, Sirius, black leather, 17" wheels and sport suspension in Galaxy Gray. I love the smart key and the heated seats and tri-directional vents keep me cozy down to about 35 degrees with the top down =). The Bose audio is nice, but doesn't compare to the thumping Shaker 1000W stereo that was in the Mustang I traded in. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get both Sirius and the iPod module, but honestly I don't need to be fiddling around with the iPod in the car anyway. I would have liked the Sirius antenna to be better integrated though.
I've never owned a convertible before, and the power retractable hardtop is what hooked me. With no compromise in trunk space, not a lot of added weight, and the added security, I was sold. I'm a Miata owner for life....read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
- 2 seater roadster easy on the wallet at the gas pumps
- Uncomfortable on long trips. Doesn't hold it's value.
Look at the resale value for nicely kept low mileage Miatas and you'll see why I'm very unhappy with my car.
It's next to worthless in a world dominated with too many gently used Miatas.
If you suddenly need to sell your car be prepaired to have to give it away for a few thousand dollars....read morehide

- Fun, Fun, fun. this is my 4th Miata, (whoops, MX-5). Great car, 12 sec. top is down.
- Not impressed with the Bose Sound system. Was better on my 2000 model. just ok
My 6th Mazda, 4th Miata. great fun cars. can't haul much, but who cares. Great on a curvey road. Windy on the Interstate, but you can roll up the windows and still hear the music. I had to fight to get a red one, but it was worth it. If your in Missouri, I reccomend any color than red. (that way, I have the only one(:-) We bought our son the RX-8, and I'd rather drive my MX-5....read morehide

- Typical good Japanese technology and dependable, but----
- ...overpriced for a two seater. Not much room for a taller driver or passenger.
I've had my car for nearly a year and am already bored with the way it looks and drive.
Mazda needs to get a clue and redesign it to a more modern and exciting looking vehicle.
Great car for the race track but let's be honest here and ask:
how many of us can drive like "Speed Racer" given the traffic and congestion on today's roads?...read morehide
