This is not a grocery-getter. This is not a daily driver for a 60 mile daily comute. If that's what you want, get a Civic or a Focus. This is not a car you buy with an automatic transmission. This is not a car you putt-putt around in while shifting at 1500 RPMs. If you drive that way you will kill the engine in short order. This is a car that was built by the Mazda engineers with one purpose in mind, the sheer joy of driving it. It was not meant to be practical, it was designed to be a machine for the driver to fall in love with. This is a car in which you spool the RPM's up gently to 6, 7 or 8000 rpm's and it does not protest, it asks for more. This is a car you redline to over 9,000 RPM's each time you start it up, because the car likes it and so do you. This is a car with nearly perfect weight distribution and ultra forgiving handling. Jeremy Clarkson called it the "easiest car to drive fast that I have ever driven". I bought this car because I wanted something enjoyable to drive and it is that and more.I never frow tired of my RX-8. Zoom Zoom indeed.
