I have owned this for the past 6 months! Its fantastic! Great gas mileage, great pick up and go! Very comfortable drive! I went from a 2008 camry that was a lemon to this! I am very pleased! Black/Black is sharp! Get lots of compliments!

Would recommend it for small families, the tribute is really nice to look at on the outside and quite comfy on the inside. Controls are very simple and it has a nice rev into it. Good Buy.

I just bought a new 2009 Mazda Tribute last week using the Cash for Clunkers program and I LOVE it! Mine has the V6 engine and has more power than I need. So far so good. I got a great deal on it too. Mazda had a 3000 rebate, plus I got a smaller dealer discount and got 4500 trade for my clunker....read morehide

I tried to buy an 08 mazda tribute. Had signed the papers, was rolling off the lot when I realized the dealer only game me one key. I parked, ran back inside, and when I came back to leave, the car would not start! I could hear the clicking sound from the alternator. So I wouldn't walk out the dealership without a car, because I refused to take that one, the dealer offered me an 09 for the same price. Guess what, the 09 had the same problem! The dealer literally tore up the contract and gave me my down payment back.. I am soooo happy that deal fell through because I ended up getting and 08 Kia Sorento, which is a roomier, much owerful, and more COMFORTABLE drive. And it looks alot better than the Tribute! The i sports on the mazda doesn't have the lumbar support, I had got a higher trim on the 08, which did have the lumbar support, but the Kia Sorento is a muuuuuuuch better drive for less money! People should be aware of those bad alternators on these trucks. The Kia Sorento was a much better buy. Thank God for intervening!...read morehide

This is my first SUV. Swapped an '05 Mazda 3 for it. Have put lots of miles on it (44k in 18 months) and have been very very impressed. Driving around 60 % highway and 40% urban, my overall average mpg is about 30.0 mpg. This has been aided by using hypermiling driving techniques and using a ScanGauge II to monitor/manage economical driving. Thus far, I had had no problems with it. Have used Mobil 1 and changed oil every 5-6 k miles. Installed a K&N air filter which has resulted in slight increases in power and fuel economy. It handles really well in the twisties. It's comfortable and fun to drive.
Much has been said about the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute Hybrids and little or no recognition for this model, which is quite competitive--maybe better/safer with limited slip and traction control--and costs 20-30% less.
It's a great vehicle. The responsive engine is essentially the Mazda3 S engine and very quiet for a 4 cylinder.
The media should be comparing this SUV favorably with Toyota's RAV and Honda's CRV. It wins hands down with better fuel economy.
I couldn't be happier with it!...read morehide13 out of 13 people found this review helpful.

This a fab SUV! Feel like I really got my money's worth. I have tons of space and it does pretty well on gas, especially for something this size. It's not huge, and still is roomy with lots of cargo space. Just right for me.

Our brakes don't clank and the ride is better thanavarage for a sub-compact SUV. We got 30 miles to the gallon on our last road trip. Love our new Tribute. A Keeper
