Compared to the non sport package plus C250 coupe, the C250 Sport Coupe has more direct and responsive steering, more responsive and flatter handling on curves and turns, a throatier and more entertaining but not intrusive exhaust note, sportier appearance, better gripping seats, better throttle response and acceleration, and a quicker shifting transmission which seems to always intuitively find the right gear and to always provide the car with torque for quick acceleration. The standard C250’s transmission has a hard time finding the right gear since it is primarily designed for improved mileage. Both versions of the C250 (Sport with the AMG Sport Plus Package or without it) have a sedate default driving mode designated as the E (Economy) mode. On both versions of the C250, the cars have distinctly improved performance characteristics when the S (Sport mode) is selected. Having said that, the AMG Sport Package Plus remedies any economy transmission gearing that plagues the non AMG Sport Package Plus C250 in favor of performance gearing on the part of the transmission for faster shifting with more torque and improved performance. Hence, if performance is important, I strongly suggest the AMG Sport Package Plus driven almost always in the Sport mode with the exception of perhaps highway driving on cruise control. The standard C250 has a quieter and unentertaining exhaust note and slightly less tire noise if fitted with the non Pirelli tires. In summary, AMG has provided seats that are even more comfortable than the C63 seats, a nice modification of the exterior and sportier interior, and modifications that that in my opinion nullify all the negative comments made by automotive journalists about performance issues with the standard C250 coupe. Black is the only interior color option available with the AMG Sport Package Plus which also comes with deselectable Designo red seat belts. Everyone I’ve spoke to who has had a chance to see the red seat belts loves them but I know if you’re conservative, you do have the option on a special order to deselect the red seat belts in favor of black ones.
So, in case you’re wondering, what else did I test drive and how does this car compared to my modified BMW and the 3 series?
I test drove the Cadillac’s ATS, CTS, and XTS models, the Volvo S60 T5, Buick Verano Turbo, Buick Regal GS Turbo, Honda’s Accord 4 cyl. and V6 4-door and 2 door coupes, Toyota’s Avalon and Camry, the top of the line Ford Taurus, Mazda 6, VW’s Jettas, 4 cyl. Passat, and CC, the Subaru Legacy 4 cyl. and BRZ and it’s Scion twin, Ford Mustangs, Chevy Camaros, Audi A4 & A5, Hyundai Azera, Infiniti’s G, the Lexus ISC 250 and 350 coupes, the Jaguar XF 6 cyl., Porsche Panamera, 2012 911, 2012 Cayman and the new Boxter, Mercedes E class coupe and convertible, and the base 4 cyl. BMW 1, 3, and 5 series.
I felt the 2013 Mercedes C250 Coupe with the AMG Sport Package Plus had the best overall balance of style, functionality, features, comfort, and driving experience (excellent Harmon Kardon Logic 7 sound system by the way) for the lease dollar. I enjoy the driving experience, luxurious interior, and handling, better than the base level 3 series which I’ve driven quite a bit. The 3 series 4 cyl. is faster than the Benz and gets better fuel mileage....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- 2013 C300 w/ 248hp 3.5 V6 is fast, 4matic AWD hold the road, looks sharp
- Cons
- The rear view camera could be better. The rear seats are useless for adults.

I drove the BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti and Audi, among others and imho the C300 killed, plus I thought it was the best looking. This car handles like a dream. Scary fast with the 248hp 3.5 direct injected V6 with 4matic AWD. I got the Magnetite Black, keyless-go, premium 1, multimedia package, lane tracking and blind spot. I got the luxury version and had them swap out the hood ornament and grill for the sport version (b/c I like that look w/ the luxury ride). The 450 watt Harman Kardon sound system is something else. I would buy this car again....read morehide

Overall a great ride. Handles very well in snow and rain. The v-6 is fast enough for any thrill seeker and with the ECO option is a gas miser.Gets lots of looks too!

Don't know why Mercedes is pushing the C250 unless it has more mark-up because the 350 is a dream to own. I drove a C250 for a rental when I took my 350 in for routine service and am so glad I got the 350! Looks are classic, comfort is great, performance is amazing!

Totally agree with Melissa's "Think Twice" comment. Unfortunately, my lease is 33 months. This is the third C class I got and it is the worst!
My C-250 started making rattle noise at the dash board after the 1st month I got the car ... so annoying! The rear brakes or wheels started in two months making squeaking noise after running on the freeway or a longer drive ... so embarassing! Took the car to dealer for inspection, but, as usual, the dealer said "cannot find the problem". I could hear the noise even right after I pulled out the car from the dealer!
Pick up is a big issue! The turbo charge kick-in is so inconsistent! My friend told me it would be better if you always keep the car in the "S" mode but that hurts the fuel economy....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

UGH! My husband leased this car in mid November. He turned in his 2011 C300 which I wish we had back. This car is a Mercedes body with a Hyundai engine and transmission. Occasionally when you take off from a complete stop, the car litereally studdere as if someone was just learning how to drive a manual! I know that when the car in in the E mode that it's supposed to take off in 2nd gear to save gas, but it's almost as if the transmission can't handle it. It's so incredibly slow to take off and since you have to really put your foot down on the gas pedal to get going you usually end up with a bit of a shock when it then jets off super fast and many seconds too late. I really don't like it at all. I have a 2011 E350 which is so smooth. This C250 is really pathetic. Glad the lease is only 2 years!...read morehide

I have ridden in many C class Benzes, but I have yet to at least take this thing out for a test drive. If I was serious about getting a C-class, I would go out and get the C350.

I get more complements on this car than a #$%$ at a Viagra convention! I traded a BMW 335 Coupe for this vehicle and found the MB to be just as much fun to drive but less harsh a ride. I'm averaging 22.2 MPG in sporty driving. The seats are very comfortable/supportive. So far it has been a terrific vehicle....read morehide

- Nothing worth mentioning.

I've owned the car five months and the experience has been flawless so far. Engine, suspension, handling, and seats/controls combine to make the car fun to drive every day on the way to work and on the back roads on the way home. I have the 4Matic and recommend it highly.
