2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
There are 6 user reviews for the CLK500 Coupe trim shown below
- Great sporty handling, and tremendous looks
- Expensive, burns gas
This car isgreat. It accelerates very well and can take turns even better. When you put this car in sport mode the engine sounds awesome, especially with all the windows down. Even though it is best on dry surfaces it handles a wet road with no problem. The only reason I wouldn't buy this car is if I needed to be able to drive when it was snowing. The sound system and navigation are very strong. The Clk500 is available with amg alluminum trim which make it a more sporty interior and the has many details whichs make it special. This car is a rocket....read morehide

- Good styling
- Too many problems too soon. Electrical system is horrible
Not much else to say. I have one. It's been back to the dealership in the first 3 months more than 11 times. Mercedes Benz manufacture refused to help. Mercedes Benz does not stand behind thier product. The dealership did everything they could do including getting the factory involved, but the factory refused to resolve the situation and I refuse to drive the vehicle more than a 100 miles away from home. I still have problems with this car. This is a car I paid $65,000 for and I would have had better luck with a hyundai....read morehide

- BRAND NAME
- TOO MANY ELECTRONIC RELATED ISSUES, BAD FUEL ECONO, EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN, TIRES WEAR
It cost a fortune and yet I have too many electronic related issues with it. I will never buy a Mercedes again.

- Love everything about 3-Pointed Star, look, feel, performance, engineering
- Could be better value but then it would not be a Benz if it was cheaper...
I wanted to wait a few more months for the CLK350 but...my wife wanted a BENZ for Mother's Day. Went to look at CLK320, ended up buying 2005 CLK500 for $53K ($4,600 below sticker). I think it is a good deal but $1050/mo is more than what my friends pay for their mortgages. I hope this is the best MB-Coupe for the next 10 years because that's how long I plan on keeping the car. I am surprise that the vehicle did not come with free maintenance. It is definitely eye-candy. I think is is a better value than the SL at $30K less and it has a nice back seat for my kids. I have always liked the SEC's and S-Coupes I am still not convinced that the CLK500 is technologically better than the previous MB coupes. I guess my wife doesn't really care as long as she's driving a BENZO. So far, it has been all smiles at my house....read morehide

- Great performance, comfort, classy understated interior, well built.
- It's ridiculous that MB has eliminated its free maintenance program for cars that cost this much.
I thoroughly researched sports cars before settling on this car. I had a 911, but my daughter was getting too tall to fit in the back. I settled on a sports coupe and compared the BMW 645 against this car. (I never really considered the CLK 55 because it only has 60 more hp and yet it costs over $12,000 more. For that amount of money I would have stretched and bought an E55.) Although the 645 was a little more responsive in its steering and therefore more sporty, I liked the styling, handling and "value" of the CLK 500 compared to the BMW. (There is a $14,000 difference in price between the two.) For the life of me, I cannot understand the styling of the 645; it looks like it has a growth on its back. Also, it has an inexplicable computer system that is virtually impossible to use for the most routine tasks....read morehide
