2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class
There are 4 user reviews for the CLK550 Cabriolet trim shown below
- styling, power, overall quality
- tire pressure sensor too sensitive
Purchased As Used
Bought my CLK550 Cabriolet in December, 2009, with only 11K miles
on it. Now approaching 21K miles and have been very pleased with everything but the very sensitive tire monitoring system. Loads of power and styling that will stand the test of time in my opinion. A downside to M-B products is the super high cost of routine maintenance. $ 500 for what is basically an oil change and some inspections is absurd. Still, a great vehicle that outperforms the
pony cars with loads of class. I would not have paid the original MSRP which was over $ 71K but at 30 grand less than that I felt it was a bargain....read morehide

- This car has it all. It has a powerful engin, the handling is great, it's sporty yet comfortable
- None, except you laugh everytime you see the driver of a 645 who paid 10K more for less perfromance.
I picked up my black '08 Convertible CLK550 at the factory in Stuttgart. If you haven't done this, YOU HAVE TO DO the European delivery option. It's awesome. After the festivities were complete, I drove it to Prague (6 hours) and a few days later to Amsterdam (10 hours). I put about 1000 miles on it, and every mile of that was fun. The engine has a quiet yet impressive rumble that makes you want to push the gas pedal at every possible occasion. Passing a truck on a two way high way in the Check Republic with oncoming traffic is fun!!! The autobanh in Germany is even better!!! 382hp coupled with 391lb-ft of torque will push this car around with ease. I went as fast as 120mph, and the steering wheel is sturdy as it is at 15mph in the parking lot. Can't wait to get it back home!!! Driving with the top down is awesome. It is surprising how well engineered this convertible is. The wind noise is minimal. That's the case with the top up too. With the 08 models they have upgraded the wheels to 18' AMG wheels and made the sports suspension standard (which lowers the car a little and gives better handling). Overall, the car is gorgeous, and coupled with the 5.5L beast under the hood, it makes for a great convertible to drive down PCH. Try it, and you'll love it....read morehide
